I should be able to make it.

A couple road notes...right now 26 is closed just north of Dart,I'll check and see if it will be open by September. It really doesn't matter though because there is a fun by-pass...Archer's Fork road to 7 to 260.Also,I read on the Ohio Riders site that they're paving the lower section of 800 right now, could be interesting if you want to include it.As a couple others have already mentioned 536 is hurting,ODOT covered the bumps that they created with two feet wide tar snakes.

Very tempting!

I would love to see Logan and Athens again!

Hocking Hills, The Devil's Bathtub...
So many roads...so little time. Do it.

Oh man...looks way fun...I don't know...maybe. :dribble:
It would be great for you guys to make this. I guarantee you would not regret making this ride...so MANY elevation changes.

It'll be good to see/ride with you again Denny.

Excellent Denny! :yahoo:

Thanks for the road notes...I will skip 536 this year....maybe run down 255 and back up to Martinsville, then east on 78, then north at the river to 556.

Wow. Thanks for the info on 26...that would have been a major fookup on my part to have a main road closed. Thanks for monitoring this thread.

Just so everybody knows....Denny is the main local guy who has been willing to share the inside info on all the local roads. Thanks Denny! :clapping:

Hello all!

I'm another "should make it".

I rode that area Sunday. 26 is still closed. 255 is closed. 147 is closed just North of 78.

800 should have resurfacing completed this week on the section between Antioch and the river. It is very nice! As far as I'm concerned we really don't need to ride anywhere else all day :D

I will put this on my list as well. Since I am not going to EOM we could make a weekend of this with just taking Monday off for the ride home.

Bryan,

Looking forward to riding with you again...hopefully without the rain this time.

Yeah, it'll be nice riding with some fellow sport tourer types. Hopefully no rain and less than 80 degrees.

I rode part of 555 and 550 today and saw signs for a 676 detour. Not sure where it's closed. I'll try to investigate further in the next few weeks to find a date when it and the others will be open.

That's great Bryan...it was good to meet you last year as well...when you helped lead the riding. Glad to hear you're going to be able to make it this year as well. Thanks for the road report as well. :clapping:

That's great Bob! Looking forward to riding with you... :clapping:

Sitting on the fence.
Don't do that, get off it and say no! I was down there in June and rode all that stuff, made me sick. All those sharp curves and elevation changes and popping over slightly blind hills to find a curve there... I was very disappointed there were no straight pieces or flat sections where I could recover for a couple of minutes. You'll hate it, say no.

Don't think I can swing this, but I shore would like to!! SE Ohio is a blast!!

Sitting on the fence.
Hope you can make it Marty. I'm sure you've ridden this area before...but if you haven't you owe it to yourself to ride this area and ride these roads. The locals have given me great suggestions for roads to ride...and of course it's always a chance to meet a new FJR friend or two.

Let me know if when you commit. :clapping:

:)

Mark, do you have this route in a gps/gpx file? I'd like to get over this way on the way to EOM.

George

... 255 is closed...

Hey Brian/Denny, what are they doing on 255? They just resurfaced it a year or two ago. Will 255 likely be closed a month from now?? I hope not...it was one of my favorites. Also, if we take 26 east to 800...will 800 be open up to Woodsfield??

With 800 being resurfaced, 536 in bad shape, if is 255 closed, it might not make sense to do anything out east except for maybe out and back on 556.

So maybe...

...26 east

to 260 south

to 800 north

to 145/556 east to the river.

Turn around at the river, head west on 556, get back to Woodsfield, take 78 west.etc.

See any issues with that?

I really hate to omit 255, especially since it was in tip top shape last year...beautiful road...but if it's closed, it's closed. :(

Mark, I was just down that way last Friday...FYI...Rt 83 from Cumberland to Rt 78 aint a bad road (if you like high speed sweepers)...just ask Bryan or Denny. There are still plenty of roads down there to have some fun on. Looking forward to it :yahoo:
