To get to the real crux of the biscuit :

Only a gay guy would care what damn color his bike is.

It's about the machine here men... not the freaking color!! Same reason that chroming stuff is gay. What are you? A bunch of gurls?

PS - Photo assist for my man Jeff:

PPS - that is one fine red dress.
Fred, I personally would rather have brown, such as in Eva Mendes. Oh, we were talking about the 2012 FJR weren't we; OK I guess the blue is all right, I still would've preferred it in brown though!

Has enyone else here ever been to a motorcycle dealership? Have you noticed that other manufacturers make models that have color options?
They do? Honda Goldwing is one color per year. The Honda NT700V had two colors, one for ABS, one for non-ABS in 2010. In 2011, they made the ABS standard and.....ONE color for all.

Hey, its totally changed! Electric grips are now standard.
Heated grips and ABS became standard on the 2011 model. (I just got one this morning :)

Actually, ABS became standard on the 2006 models. I think you are correct about heated grips becoming standard on the 'A' model in 2011. Hence the $300 msrp increase.

As peeps have pointed out, that is not really correct. Traditionally, sport-tourers have only come with one color option:

Old Kawi C10 was only one color per year for close to 20 years.

Old Honda ST1100 only one color per year.

Honda ST1300 only one color per year. (though did they have separate colors for abs/non-abs?)

Kawi C14 only one color per year. (though did they have separate colors for abs/non-abs?)

BMW is an exception, but you pay for that privilege.

Now, unfortunately in markets other than north-america there have tended to be color choices - at least for the FJR. Usually a choice of three. Why? Who knows. Sure wish the FJR would have been available here in Techno Jade Green and Desert Metallic that were available in other parts of the world.

Of course other higher selling models frequently do come in color choices. Guess they don't sell enough S-Ts here in north america to just multiple options?

Oh, and HRZ? KLRs have been available in two color choices for many years now. Ya putz!

I guess they finally ran out of black.

That's ok, we all KNOW Raven Black is the fastest color, so imo they have de-tuned the new 2012's...lol

Sooo maybe next year will be black cherry. Then I could trade up and no one would know, and all the farkles will fit.

Nah, I'm going to run the **** out of the 07. At 54000 it's just broke in. ;)

If they did come out with White then Mr Ashe could have red, white, and blue.

Seriously, I to am glad just to see them still in the line up.

At least they got the color right. :p
Yep.

Very VERY nice!

Given the weak economy, keeping the status quo is a good idea IMHO.
Yep.

Hell, with the economy being the way it is I am just glad they are continuing to make the FJR at all.
...and yep. :clapping:

You know... when you have something that looks like Michelle Pfeiffer, does it really matter what color it is???

I too am happy to see the FJR remain available. I was expecting much worse.
...and yeppers as well. :assassin:

but where's the cruise control, and the traction control, and the seat warmer/cooler that everyone has been promising me?!?!?!

EDIT: How could I forget the missing 6 speed transmission?!?! Those *******s!!!
Has enyone else here ever been to a motorcycle dealership? Have you noticed that other manufacturers make models that have color options? Is this a sign that FJR sales are so low that it's not cost effective to offer color options?

When I bought my CBR, I think there were something like 6 color options!!!
Honda did the same thing with the ST1300. But like you said on the other models there would be several color options available. Go figure!
The FJs were the same way, at least in the US (except maybe one or two years). You identify the year by the color.

So now they've re-released the '05 blue in a Gen-II version . . . . . I'd have preferred red.

Heated grips have been standard on the 'A' model in Canada for quite a while (I beleve since '07)

Being as I am riding in the deep, hot, humid south, I will hold out on upgrading my '08 until 2013 , when hopefully, AC will be standard. ;)

I'm hoping they don't recycle the Black Cherry 'cause it's sure nice to have a "special" color. But whatever color it is, I'm just very happy to see the FJR model continue for at least another year.

And I also have no intention of getting rid of my 07 that just rolled over 54,000 miles yesterday on the way home from work. Are we racing to 100K?

Oh! Happy Day's!! Just Fixed my LAST RECALL on my RED 07 with +70'000mi; was thinking of trading up but I'll just keep my RED :yahoo: FJR & buy a new BONNIE SE to join my BMW R100RT with +160,000mi :p

Yamaha should have at list painted the side panels to differentiate it from the 2006 model. This is how mine looked like after I had that done. Much better in my opinion.
