I second the notion for Fri nite at Sam's. Looks good and who can beat 'within walking distance!'

Should be there after check-in, shooting for 7ish

If you want too that would be OK.

Never been, but I here Sam's is good food, but a little pricey. We could go there for dinner.

Your the leader of this here gang so what u say, but walking distance is good especially when brown bottles get involved.

I've edited post one with some changes.
1- Dacks is Friday, and Cats is on Saturday now...................
I guess that means the title of the weekend is now Dacks & Cats vs Cats & Dacks.
Sorry Iris, I was going to mention it the other day on the phone, but forgot. Hope this all works for you guys.

No worries either way is okay. But Jim wants to know if a fat baby sits on a pig (in the woods), does anyone hear the pig fart?

Pigs may be color blind, but they can smell truffles buried underground. So in the interest of maintaining their most valuable asset (besides becoming bacon, that is) I think they'd probably try to hold in their farts regardless of the baby's fatness. Unless they ate the fat baby and became flatulent.

But that wouldn't ever happen, right? I mean, it's not like they are dingos or anything.

On topic contribution: I'm still following this to see if I can skoot over and catch maybe just one of the two days before CFR.

I live in Stamford, about 60 miles from Johnstown,

I used to wrench on a car we raced at Fonda Speedway (10 minutes away from where you will start), so know where you guys are talking about, really nice country and lotsa curvies.

I'd like to try and be there for the one of the rides, I wont need accomodations as I live so close, but would love to meet some of you and take a ride.

It would be nice to see you and Joann

Well I just did the Ramble and had a great time, so thinking about this ride. It's about 5 1/2 weeks away, and the cut off date for the group rate is 5/13, so only a few days left if you're going to get the lower rate. JSNS

Art and All,

I may not be able to make the ride this year. The good news is I'm working a project and traveling all over the country. The bad news is I'm working a project and traveling all over the country. Nice to be employed, but bad for making it to some great rides when away from home. If my schedule changes, I'll let you know. I really had a great time last year and was looking forward to seeing you all again. Have a great ride and be safe.....

Hi Art,

I noticed on the route of the Cats, that there are many stops and eateries listed. One of the ones that caught my attention was the one at the very east of the Ashokan Reservoir. It's called Hickory Barbeque & Smokehouse (something like that). This place looks good (at least on their website - I've never actually been there). https://www.hickoryrestaurant.com/

I was wondering (not that it matters all that much), what the lunch plan was for Saturday Cats ride. You can email me if you prefer so that we don't get too much off topic on the forum. Either way is fine with me.

-Iris

ps. another waypoint on the route is The Reservoir Inn. That one doesn't open daily until 5:00pm https://www.reservoirinn.biz/

Iris, that place (hickory smokehouse and bbq) smells soo damn good!... My "gut" instincts are immediately attracted to the wording "delectable". Nice find!

Hickory Barbecue and Smokehouse, located on Route 28 between Kingston and Woodstock, has the most delectable smoked barbecue cuisine north of the Mason-Dixon Line.

The Hickory is good. I recommend the Brisket. Yumm.

The Reservoir Inn just opened under new owners. I heard it was good, but I don't know for sure. They may not be open for lunch anyway.

I was planning on going ccw which would put the BBQ place too late for lunch. If you look at the route you will see a way point for lunch at the Roscoe Dinner. I suppose if everyone wants BBQ then we can run the route CW.
