Pittsburgh Marriott North at Cranberry Woods

I really enjoyed being there and even got the opportunity to help out a rider with a flat tire only 20 miles from the checkpoint.
Good on you and your friend for helping out. My wife and I were hanging out with the Canadian Pit Crew when the call came in, and you guys jumped right in to help.

Way-to-go all the FJR riders. Wow! Wendy. What a great start. Looking forward to seeing the riders in Sacramento.

Maura G and I are climbing into the "Cage of Shame" tonight at 6pm and heading to Sacramento.

Why the cage one may ask ?

Well the drive though Redding, CA would be in keeping with Bob's Dante theme as Redding will be Circle 6

What IS it with Redding? When the wife and I rode through there in 2010, it was something like 109. I don't say this very often when it comes to riding, but that sucked.

When it's an appropriate time, I'm looking forward to hearing what happened with Mark Crane. He's a superb rider and seasoned vet who somehow managed to tally less than 12k points in 3529 miles. Gotta be a story there....

Iggy has time to make up his "DOH!" moment. Don't worry about that.

What I LOVE, is that Wendy is ROCKIN' IT! Look at her miles and points compared to Meese and Crane.

Dickson has always been a little under the radar, but he's a hell of a rider and a really nice guy.

This is shaping up to be a very interesting contest.

Typically, leg one doesn't tell much of a story. There are a number of exceptional riders this year, that either don't really have their heads in the game or were laying back for the second and third legs.

There are several riders I'm anxious to visit with at the finish.

Key West seems like an awfully long ways to go for half the points..... Best of those was two-thirds the points.

Will we see the first-leg bonus list soon, or do we have to wait for ALL of it to be done?

for Iggy to just barely be out of the top 10 with that little flub is nothing. it could be way worse for him.

I'm also really curious about the Leg 1 list. What would make someone think that Key-West wasn't a sucker bonus?

Amen to that, Dickson is first class. Really pulling for Josh. I really hope he didn't out-ride himself on the first leg. He's a machine, but 1000 miles than others for the same (or less points) might be over-reaching just a little.

A boat load of impressive rides are happening, Scott on that 78 Yamaha. :)

Off to the inferno in the am. 106F? Ah, SAC in the summertime! I think I'll stop for coffee and eat in restaurants on the way. US 50 should be nice ;)

Anyone hear if Matt figured out his loose steering?

We were told it would be posted shortly after the Riders got the second leg rally pack.

Just waiting :)

While not efficient, but did anyone else notice that the most miles were completed by the oldest bike?
