But Mikey likes the (boring) 2015 Gray color...

These are the kinda deals I like going to look at but with yesterday's weather I managed to take my boring sorta gray bike out for a spin before I needed to run some errands in my boring gray truck. I did take my (anything but) boring gray & black dog along though.

Me and boring get along fine.

Just came across this post, I purchased this bike last week and am picking it up Saturday. I am wimping out and trailering it home to Mass. Its not set up electrics yet otherwise I'd be riding the 100 miles home.

As a fellow New England 2014 ES owner, welcome to the Yankee Red Bike club!

Whenever you do get the chance to ride her, you are really going to like it. Hope to see you around next year.

Congrats on getting the FJR. Enjoy it and if you get up to VT stop buy and I'll show you some sweet roads.

Congrats dshane on grabbing that sweet bike. It was bothering me knowing it was siiting there waiting for a new owner just a few miles away from me. Hope to see you and it on some NERDS type events next year.

Hi All,

Well I trailered the new to me fjr home today. It will be registered Monday and hope to get some miles on it before the first snow. Quick two questions...fairing supports in or out for cold weather? And can you use a battery tender with a vrla battery? Thank you for your answers.

Congrats!

I don't think the movable faring doo-dads do a damn thing, but there is a real chance of losing one if you don't get the single fastener latched on the bottom. Others have already had that happen. I'm just leaving mine in the "normal" position year round.

Yes, the VRLA (AGM type) batteries we have can be charged using a battery tender. I have a nice Optimate 3 tender I bought a few years ago, that I use to keep all the bike batteries in good shape by rotating which it is connected to through the winter. I don't think it is a great idea to just leave the tender connected for the entire duration. THat seems to shorten battery life as much as doing nothing does.

Supposed to be warm, though a little wet, for the next few days. Good chance to get out before the real winter shows up.
