In Australia the AEE is fitted with the 023 GT's, I'm fairly sure the "F" is the OEM spec of the tyre.

I was really glad the dealer swapped out the tyres for me, I really don't like them !

Tire mileage on a FJR is completely dependent on your right wrist control, (Or for some of us complete LACK of right wrist control.) You will find some people here get 6, 8 or even 10 thousand miles off the original tires. I got 3,000 miles off them on my 06 and could not stand it anymore and took them off. You will not believe how much better the bike feels when you get rid of the Stones and get a decent set of tires like PR's, Dunlop Road Smart II's, etc.

I am picking up my ES this weekend and part of the deal I made is that they are replacing the stock tires with Pirelli Angel GT's. I have not tried them before but I am sure they will be much better than the 023's

The dealer was only to happy to swap mine out to Angel GT's. So far they seem good, equal to the PR2's.

It hasn't rained yet, I'm hoping their wet weather performance is good as well.

+1 on the right wrist. Run the pressures at 40-42 front, 42-44 rear and you'll keep the heat build-up down and get an extra 1000 out of them.

Having read your thoughts, I am leaning toward running the Bridgestones. Here is my reasoning. After 1800 miles on the tires I still have only used less than 2/32 of the tread. Almost all those miles were on non slab riding. I will be riding one up with bags not loaded heavy. I weigh 145lbs and will not be riding aggressively or at speeds over 80mph. The only heat I expect will be in NV. I have never run out a set of Bridgestone tires however on Michelin PR2's I have been getting 12,000 miles on front and 15,000 miles on rear tires. I would think 5000 miles on these Bridgestones is a reasonable expectation.
+1. I've been riding with 023 for many seasons and very pleased with its performance. I ride mountain twisties, freeway slab, etc. Mileage is great too. The last rear tire got 12,000 miles. I wouldn't worry too much about the tire for the trip considering your riding style is typical (not aggressive).

You are correct. If you get that kind of mileage on PR2's (I get about 8000-9000 off the rear, and replace the front at the same time because they cup so bad.) You will certainly get at least 5000 miles of the Stones.

FYI, Nevada roads are notorious for eating up tires, but that is considering riding at much higher speeds than it sounds like you are doing. I typically get much better tire mileage riding across country than I do riding on the local roads, and get much lower mileage riding endurance rallies in Nevada. I fully expect to wear out a set of tires in one weekend doing the Poison Rally.

Mah (new ta me /w 23K mi.) FJR AE came w/ non oem 023s and I liked 'em. (Tried 020s, 'n 021s and didn't like 'em.) so when they wore out, thought I wuz gonna buy me sum PRIIs (F'in hated PRIIIs) but to mah surprise, I dun found T30s (GT spec) fer $224! https://www.americanmototire.com/catalog/index.php?cPath=33_82_1078 and that wuz much cheaper than PRIIs. After 1,000 miles, I highly recommend 'em.
