I got a call today from my Yamaha shop. They were doing some work on my bike and told me the 4 post headlight mounts were all broken. The part would be about $1400. Has anyone heard of this?
Nope. I once had a headlight socket burn out and I replaced it. Not entirely sure what they mean by the 4 post headlight mounts. Who changed the bulbs the last time?I got a call today from my Yamaha shop. They were doing some work on my bike and told me the 4 post headlight mounts were all broken. It did fall down hard which is what they were working on. Stopped on side of raod, and the ground was soft. I ended up in the ditch with my bike on top.The bike must have fallen down and gone boom. Sounds about right if it's the headlight assembly studs...although I've never heard of all four popping without it being a very obvious collision. Headlight assemblies are not cheap.
Assuming it's the assembly you can go check yourself at online parts sources like Partzilla. $1053 for a headlight assembly there..you might be able to find them cheaper in other places and do the labor yourself.
