Hello all,

I have a few favorite FJR1300 videos out there. Not that the videos of the touring side of the FJR aren't totally engaging when 30 degree weather is toying with my arthritis but I do admire seeing the bike ridden towards its Sporty nature too. These vids kind off blow my mind - I've only had the FJR for a few weeks and have been spirited but this guy Olli is something to watch ! I emailed him to ask if he had modified the bike in anyway. His response is listed below the links. Enjoy the vids, good stuff here !

FJR vor Monster

When asked if his message could be posted, Olli said "Send me a link to the forum" So anything you post, Olli will have a chance to read. Thanks Olli for Germany !

Hi nate,

you come from USA, right?

It's really great, this Internet connecting people around the world....

Nice to hear that you like my FJR videos.

And having a 2005 FJR, you have the best FJR on market.

Starting with the 2006 model, it got more and more a Tourer, not a Sportstourer any more.

Thats mainly the reason why in March 2010 I switched to a BMW K1300S.

That bike is even better....

Yes, I modified the FJR, otherwise you can't have such a performance in the corners...

I installed a (harder) Wilbers rear suspension, which I ordered longer than the default one.

Additionally I installed a shorter strut (I hope its the right word) at the bottom of the fixation of the suspension, to get the bikes back even higher.

By doing this I lifted the bikes back to the maximum. This is limited because the rear swingarm hits the exhaust. Between there I only had 1-2 millimeter space left......

:)

By this I was able to chase the sportsbikes!! :)

Have fun with your FJR!

Cheers,

Olli.

Man, those are some nice roads. What fun!!

I felt a lot more comfortable watching the 3rd one from the perspective of the '05 FJR. That Ducati rider with the camera in the first two videos was giving me the heebie jeebies. And the damn bug splat made it hard to see our man up on the feejer ahead. ;)

Watching he '05's speedo, (and realizing that it's calibrated in kph) those boys were moving along right smartly at times in that last clip..

It's me, speedolli. The guy you see on the videos above.

I know it's difficult because of the language, but just for your information:

This is the German FJR Forum.

There are quite a lot FJR fans here in Germany.

Awesome!!

It's great to see the following for our bikes in other counties.

I apologize for not being fluent enough in German to make heads or tails of it, but glad that you can.

Cheers!! :drinks:

I couldn't continue watching the first two videos. The target and distroy sight (Bugshit) was 'bugging' me. The third vid was fun to watch. Not sure overshooting those corners is a good thing? I can tell you a story about hanging over the yellow line. ;) When someone coming the other direction is doing the same thing it gets interesting real quick. Ide say about 2 seconds quick.

Thanks,

Dave

Now I know two things for sure. I own the RIGHT bike, but I live in the WRONG place. I think I lost about 2 pounds just watching that last video.

WOW, what a ride. I noted how narrow the roads were. That brought back memories of Joel Hentges father taking myself, PFC Kevin Reid Joel and her older sister around Luxemburg to Vianden, the Patton memorial in Belgium and a few other places. Narrow roads and seemingly insane speeds. The Europeans are very well trained drivers. IIRC to get a license to operate a 1300cc motorcycle in Germany, requires 3 upgrades/endorsements.

Here is a translator that can sort of direct you in the German forum. I wonder if I could teach myself a new language

Wow, just tried copy and paste into the translator, and if you have enough patience, you can really follow along in their forum. You can copy and paste whole posts.

One more:

Vogesen 2007 FJR1300A

I love this video...what an adrenalin rush. I know I don't look like that on my bike.

Man, I love that FJR turbine like whine.

It does seem that the 2nd rider gets out of sorts for bit towards the last minute or so of the video trying to keep up.

Us Minnesota boys will have to make a video for you guys sometime :)
You Minnesota boys think you can beat the Germans? :p
I think we run a bit quicker pace on similar roads without constantly crossing over the double line to improve our lines. I'm trying to get a GoPro approved for a Christmas gift for myself :p

I think Carlson was just saying that Minnesotans have bigger bug splats on their windshields... :p
That's a guarantee! Land of 10,000 bugs per ride.

I know of one NorCal owner who has raised the rear of his FJR. He also wears out the edges of his tires when there's still tread left in the center...

Also, I've ridden with a few members of this forum who can and occasionally do ride like that.

I've learned to let them go and meet them at the next stop. ;)
