On another board there's a rider trying to adapt a FJR front master cylinder to his 93FJ1200 with ABS.

The FJ1200 is a three wire setup. Is the FJR a two or three wire setup? The wires on my ABS FJR are wrapped up pretty tight and all I can see is a yellow wire and another with a yellow stripe. Can anyone with a wiring diagram / manual help out here ? ( Tried the online parts page but it's pretty vague )

Looking at the ABS version schematics, it looks like the FJR does have a wire in the sub harness for a three wire sensor. But it looks like Yamaha descided to use a two wire. There may be two scenarios. One being that the 3rd wire is a shield ground. Making the signal imune to noise......OR....That the 3rd wire is a sensed lead by the ECU. In which case the software that is running sensing the ABS sensor needs this signal to operate correctly. There may also be a possibility that the ECU of the FJ1200 has a different sensor input requirement. These are hall effect sensors and vary widely in specifications. Without having the data sheets of the two sensors along with the ECU's input requirements it is a crap shoot.

Best thing is that it just works......

It might not work but not harm anything by trying.

Or... You damadge the ABS ECU by trying and it won't ever work again! At least not without a pile of $!

Good luck and cross your fingers if you are going for it.
