Just a reminder for every one on the road watch out for those ADOT Ford Escapes with the Ticket Cameras on them. I am on the road all the time work and play and I see those things parked in different locations all over the place. Big Brother is WATCHING YOU!

:jester:

Blue and White Ford Escape with a 10 or so foot boom with Camera on top to take your picture. And they put these out there to make our roads safer. Yah sure, Can you saw more tax dollars. You would think the State would make enough from stupid people playng the lottery.

The camera's are all over the valley, I thought that crap stayed down there, but I saw one just north of Flagstaff the other day. You will go by at least a few. What really messes with you if someone else speeds by but all you notice is flashes from the camera. You spend the rest of your trip wondering if there is a ticket waiting for ya!

I'll pay part of your ticket if you moon the camera from the bike and post the Pic online... Just kidding don't want a crash and then you're found by your bike with your pants down and the camera caught all the action.....would be funny as **** though...

So, they must use a steady radar signal, yeah? What band?

They use a low power signal that most detectors won't pick up until you are within a few hundred feet of the vehicle. There is usually no advance warning on a detector.

In North Western Arizona I see them all the time on the Highway between Havasu, Kingman and Laughlin. One time I was traveling into Bullhead City and cruised by one. Within a couple of miles I went by another one on the same highway. Some Smart *** at ADOT probably thought that one up. Don't they have better things to do like dress up Women cops as hookers and bust Johns, or chase kids on dirt bikes. If the state needs more tax money and the lottery is not enough, they could open up Casino's. The Indians do it!

Heading home from Colorado last month, I noticed they are not fore-warning you with signage any longer. You are liable to see them almost anywhere in AZ. I-40 and many of the adjoining highly traveled highways from the CA border to New Mexico.

Just keep your eyes peeled for a vehicle parked alongside the highway. Although I can't swear to it, it appears they cannot get traffic coming from the opposite direction because of how the cameras aim. To be valid, they have to get your face in the picture. Unless your name is SkooterG, because his picture had a strong resemblance to George Armstrong Custer!
