Ok this is my first ride report I have ever done so please bare with me. I thought I would do like the Geek's did and post a report on a daily basis since it will be easier to keep up with. My wife and I arrived at the KOA in Lake Placid NY about 6:10 yesturday evening and will be here for two nights then Monday morning pack up and head to another destination. Here are some pics

Ok here is the FJR all loaded up and ready for the trip

Ok so that is day 1 of our motorcycle camping trip we still have 6 more to go. Today is day 2 were want to try and make it up to White Face mountain if the weather cooperates so we will see how that works out.

Oh and for those who are curious about how the FJR towed the camper I thought it did a great job. It handle the camper well. It stops great even with all that weight back there. You can feel a little tug on the bike when you get into really rough road but over all it pulls about the same as pulling a trailer behind your vehicle. Except you get to lean the bike in the turns which is kind of different with a trailer behind you. The camper has the torsion axle which seems to handle the bumps really well.

WOW! Pretty cool. That trailer is pretty large compared to others I've seen. How's the tongue wait? Looks like it's a little light form the angle its at.

Enjoy, ride safe.

The tongue weight does vary depending on were you place the load(lol he said load) but I have a bathroom scale to measure it.

FJR Pierre Oh yeah we have the inside of the camper fully loaded also. It has about 15 cu ft of cargo area inside. Then we had the cooler, 2 plastic totes, and grill on top of the camper. My wife doesn't travel light. LOL

Inside the camper we have 2 sleepingbags, twin size egg crate foam, clothes, bathroom stuff, laptops, electric blanket, space heater, step stool for getting in and out at night, 2 burner coleman stove, pillows, and probably some little stuff I'm forgetting. Then in the front tool box (which has a waterproof seal) I have the awning, rope, stakes, hammer, hatchet, and some hand tools just incase. I think that about covers it.

Nice setup ya got!

I love that part of the country - Sooze and I rode 9N on our way back from CFR back in June.

Keep it coming! (And don't forget food ****!)

Ok so day 2 was pretty uneventful. The weather was crappy so we didn't do anything but hang out at the campground and take a nap. I did get some food ****.

Ok so that's it for day 2. Day 3 is getting off to a late start but we are on vacation. So now we are going to make our way to Old Orchard beach today. Should be around a 300 mile ride and I will try and get alot of pics.

COOL! The shot of you on 9, the gear indicator says 4th.... at 65mph? Were you trying to keep/maintain speed going uphill? The view looks flat if not slightly downhill?

I like the thought of towing a camper, basically cuz I'm a cheap *******, but also like camping. The wife I don't think would be willing to forego a regular bed and four walls.... can only imagine her muttering something about having to shower in a camp shower! Maybe it's time for trading?? Nah, too expensive, cheaper to keep 'er

You two kids have fun and hoping you stay dry!

Good job on the food photos, but what really made my pants tingle was seeing that bottle of Crown Royal on the picnic table. Just because you're "roughing it" doesn't mean that you don't need the essentials. Mmmmm.... :dribble:

Day 3

Ok so day 3 got of to a really late start because we slept in but oh well it is vacation. So it started to rain when we headed out of the KOA and rained pretty much most of the day. We crossed Lake Champlain on the ferry which was very cool and the rain did stop long enough for us to enjoy the ferry ride. We crossed Vermont then hit the White Mountains of New Hamshire the we headed down I93 to save some time. We didn't make to Maine's coast until 8pm so we decided to get a room for the night(since my wife was soaking wet but my Aerostich kept me dry) and head to the Old Orchard Beach KOA in the morning. Sorry guys I didn't get any food **** again but just imagine a big angus bacon burger with fries at McDonalds which was lunch and dinner on Monday.

The camper all most packed up for Monday journey

No I could have put it in 5 gear and it would have pulled fine I would just have to give it a little more throttle. Yeah some chic's don't like to rough it lucky for me my wife enjoys camping with me. Your right it is cheaper to keep her.LOL

Ok Day 4

All we did today is find the Old Orchard beach KOA and get camp set up and dry out from yesterday. We will be hitting the beach tomorrow and should have some good pics for ya. But for now here are some campground pics and camper pics
