Followed a link from here to there to here to there and found the IBA's Ultimate Coast to Coast ride rules. 30 days to go from Deadhorse, Alaska to Key West, Florida or vice versa. That should be damn near a gimme. I mean, Google Maps says it should take you 4 days, 9 hours. <_<

Don't speed in TN :)

The Dalton can be know to be unpredictable.

Your map doesn't include minor things like fuel stops and sleep. Plus, it includes a 51 mph average over the 105 hours. I doubt even the BBG King could pull that off (no, that's not a challenge!). Otherwise, sure, why not! I'm figgering about 10 or 12 days including 3 days for NAFO. Of course, that's if skooter's big ol' honkin' ears flappin' in the breeze don't slow us down. ;) Hopefully, I can squeeze in a 50CC and the UCC in a one shot trip. Maybe even a BBI on the way home. We'll see how dem old bones are feeling next year.

This is my 30th year of riding the Alcan, just got back from my annual 10K mile walkabout to the states. Anyhoo, here is something else that you may not know; in northern Canada they do not have credit card swiping gas pumps, you have to go inside to an attendant and have them swipe your card. Consequently, if they ain't open you get no gas.

But on the good side, I run between 85 and 100+ through most of the YT, and northern BC. (and it don't get dark)

With respect to Hobatz Egan's 101-hour ride on the Duck, his average was pretty close to the legal limit. As you mentioned, when you first hear of it, the speed doesn't seem extreme. But of course, he had to restart after a near collision with a truck wrecked him, ride with a broken bone and windshield, pre-arrange tire changes, go without sleep for close to 4 days, and make up for lost time from those & a few other minor complications. But his bottom-line point was to simply stay on the road and be consistent, which he is a master of self-discipline at!

Damn...........what kinda sick **** is that?

edit:.....why ya gotta be such a naysayer, TWn? Why?

Oh, agreed. But 'average' is just that, especially when you add in the Haul Road with it's pitfalls - that in itself, is gonna bump the moving speed up. Truly an awesome feat, nonetheless.
