Great Pics... This is a ride you will always remember. Your son is now on the forum rooting you on.... I only have one question for you.... Are you sure you didn't forget anything???? Have a grand trip and we will see you in Colorado.. Rich

Absolutely amazing, be safe & keep the reports coming, I’m riding with you.

Awesome adventure! Great pics!

I started to feel okay about not doing Alaska, then came the moose photo. GF will be hounding me to see a moose again!

Enjoy, and let me know if you spot a running moose with a rebel flag "inserted". He took off too fast for me to snap a pic. Probably reached AK by now.

:)

woohoo! :thumbsupsmileyanim: :specool: :hyper: :clapping: :dribble:

Enjoy every last second!

Some day.............some day........keep the dream alive.......of course I'll have to hit the lotto

Day 6 July 8th

Today is a layover day in Homer, just ride around and check it out was the plan.. Woke up , stepped out the tent and a bald eagle flies by, how cool was that !!

Some farm art

Rode up Skyline drive and Diamond grade, highest points around with views for miles in both sides of the mountain range.

Next headed down to the Split and checked out the scene out there again. Tons of fishing charter places and low key tourist type shops.

Another lost sailor memorial, much nicer than the one in Seward

Had to take a pic at the Salty Dog, some sort of landmark in the area, didn’t dare venture in though as my right wrist has a throttle discipline problem already without alcohol being involved!

Spent a few hours at the Library using WiFi, catching up on E-mail and picture resizing \ posting etc.

Ate dinner the Cosmic Café.. Far out man ! ( it was pretty good too )

Today’s song that stuck in my head……..

If there's somethin' goin' on within a hundred miles from home,

Ya gonna hear my V-8 ( FJR ) sing

Long as I can beat the train and they got a passing lane,

Baby, I ain't gonna miss a thing

Life's too fun and I'm too young and the night ain't over yet

Like I said I can sleep when I'm dead

I can sleep when I'm dead

(I ain't even tired yet)l

Day 7 July 9th

Homer to Tok.

Early morning light ( can’t say sun-up, as the sun never sets this far north ! ) Low 40’s this AM, with the wind blowing hard. The heated vest and grips got a work out.

It deceiving how the scale on the maps of Alaska are, what’s 2 hours on lower 48 maps, is 6 hours in AK. Long day today, 14+ hours ain’t much in in the grand scheme of things , but when your Spidey senses have to be on alert for that long ,on Moose alert, it’s draining .

So is this sign enough to scare the crap out a guy ? It’s only the 9th !!!

DSC02721.jpg

I kid you not, ten minutes after I see that sign I see Ms. Cowinckle on the side of the road! Then a couple hours later one runs across the road about 40 yards ahead.. Yikes!

Looks like the county planner has a sense of humor

The Glenn Hiighway has some great twisties, but the scenery ain’t bad either.

Finally out of the overcast into some sun

Looks like a good place for a Moose ambush spot to me.

Song of the day by the world greatest rock and roll band

Time waits for no one, no favors has he

Time waits for no one, and he won't wait for me

Really appreciate the feedback, wish I'd time to answer, but the road's calling.................... :yahoo: , maybe at a later date.

Dave, I was gone for a week and didn't know you were on an epic trip.

I have loved every minute of it!

It's great to live; You're doing an excellent job!

Keep 'em coming and stay safe.

This makes me want to buy a Dual Sport and ride to Alaska. A-Girl did a trip like this last year and I was glued to the computer waiting on her to post about the trip.

Now, you have me glued to the computer again waiting for the next post. You are doing a great job. I am so happy you can make this trip.

Thank you for sharing this experience with us.
