I just got back from an 1,800 mile ride, with the majority spend on the border of Virgina & West Virginia. The weather was awesome and the roads were fantastic. Thanks to this forum I found a couple of new roads that are definitely on my "favorites". The highlights include: Route 39 from Goshen, VA to Marlinton, WV; Route 311 from White Sulpher Springs, WV to Salem, VA (including a must stop at the Paint Bank General Store); and 12 o'clock Knob Road from Salem, VA to Bent Mountain, VA. Thanks again to this forum for their suggestions you have once again proved to be a valuable resource.

Sorry, I only took a few pictures when we stopped and you all know what gas stations and hotels look like. I did try to use a friends GoPro camera, but if you saw my other post, the battery was dead, so no video either. :(

There were a bunch of us in Marlinton over the weekend. I did see a couple of other FJR's. Maybe one of them was you. Next time you are going to be down here give me a shout. There are a lot more roads than what you emntioned that are even better.

I was with 3 other guys (a BMW K1600Gt, two C14's and my '09 FJR. We went thru Marlinton on Saturday at about 4pm. I didn't see any other FJR's, just lots of BMW dual sports.

We were somewhere on Back Mountain Road just north of Marlinton at that time.

I was riding with Bob on Back Mountain road that day. Sorry that we missed you... & for sure... do, give a holla' when you're riding those parts. For sure, we definitely know where to point your nose or lead you.
