You sick bastard! :p

Ha!~ Well, I told you I operated a computer like I was drunk. Got a link, but no imbed of the pic. There is a photo of Sunday's SE FJR group at Barber, but the link inadvertently included some old time photos of me and my 1972 enduro ride. Sorry about that. Back to search for how to do this. Hit the link in the meantime. Cliff

Hey, Cliff! It was good to meet you and your lovely wife at Barber's. Hopefully, we'll get to ride together someday. Glad ya'll made it back safely.

David, Your inbox is full, so I will just post it to the group as it applies to all anyway. I told you I would send you a link to the Honda Sport Touring Association. Here it is. www.ridehsta.com

Again, what brand you ride is of no importance. At most gatherings the Honda brand is in a minority. Lots of different kinds of bikes. Great group of folks.

I wanted to get this off to you because there is a gathering at the Motel 6 in Helen, GA this weekend. Most will ride in Friday night, ride together on Saturday (in smaller groups of 3 - 5), and ride back home on Sunday.

This is a "pay event". Membership is $35.00 for rider, and $10.00 for other member of household.

The registration fee for the event is waved if you sign up as a member. Membership includes a great little color magazine. There are a number of so called "nonevents" where there is no fee to ride. For the fee at Helen, there is some food (cereal breakfast), drinks, door prizes, and packets with route maps of the good roads for the area.

The headquarters is the Motel 6 in Helen, but it is not required that attendees stay there.

Just wanted to get this info for you because this one is relatively near you. Next one is in Sparta, NC Memorial Day Weekend and then following that , the five day National gathering (called STAR 07) is in Asheville NC in June. Of course there are many of these events all over the USA.

Mary and I will probably leave here about 10 AM Friday if weather clears enough. Should be in Helen about 4 or 5 after we ramble some of the back roads on the way down.

Check out the web site, and if not this one, try to make one soon. I think yopu will like the crew.

I'll try to let you know the next "non - event" too so you could check it all out without fees.

Cliff

Sheesh. My daughter is moving out this weekend.

I am the strong back/weak mind.

Thanks for getting the pic posted to the group, Bruce. Hope to cross paths again soon.

Cliff

I live in the area and took the cage to the race (with my boys).

I was SHOCKED at the number of FJRs that were there.

I'm glad to see it's so popular, but part of me likes the "exclusivity" of the thing . . we don't want them as common as GSXR1000s or whatever.

On a side note, I'd been to the track before, but this was the first time I visited the museum. If you go to Barbers, be sure to visit the museum--it's pretty unbelievable. I've went to the museum on the infield at Indianapolis, and to put it in perspective, this museum (at Barber's) blows it away in terms of size, architecture, and the number of things on display. I know its apples and oranges, a little (though Barber's had some open wheel stuff), just trying to put in perspective how truly special this track and museum are for this area.

Yes, the museum is phenomenal and it is a nice track. As for the FJR I am happy to see so many out there and as far as exclusiveness I think it is more up to the individual to make it exclusive rather than the bike itself, but that is my .02.
