That is some impressive mileage for sure. But it does give me great joy in know that the 04 I just got the 14k will be with me for many years to come. And will do anything I ask of her. Also tells me I picked the right bike!!!

I didn't read through all of the replys to see if anyone mentioned this or not, but if you bought the bike new in 2004 that works out to about 100 miles a day...EVERY day. Amazing ;)

Way to go Skoot!

Also amazing when you stop to think about how many of those miles were done in freezing cold, scorching heat and total darkness.

Skooter's secret???

<_< :glare:

2 questions, Skooter: Are there any states you haven't ridden yet? And how many batteries have you gone thru?

I'd be interested to hear if the Battery has been replaced, but phil, are you inferring that mileage eats up Batteries? My '04 has 33 grand on the odometer and the original Battery. The MORE you Ride the less Battery problems, in my experience. Love the original post, BTW.

I had to do some googling about this, you may have the highest mileage FJR as well as the highest mileage Yamaha but this Senator from Wisconsin has put 1 Million miles on his '91 Harley, which regardless of what you think about Harley's is pretty amazing.

While looking around for other high mileage FJR's I was at Guiness' site and actually you could probably enter for highest mileage Yamaha: https://www.guinnessworldrecords.com/register/login.aspx it didn't look like it cost anything either.

Damn, you realize thats the equivalent of 185 DAYS with your arse in the saddle (assuming 50mph avg)?

Impressive!

Today was one of those days I was in a funk. Woke up on the wrong side of the bed, somebody pissed in my Wheaties, PMS..... I don't know - something! I was a moody bastard in a bad mood.
So, I decided to take a ride to one my favorite mexican restaurants in Gila Bend - Sofia's. A nice 80 mile ride to this establishment on a gorgeous, sunny day in the 70s. Between the ride and the fine grub it did the trick. There was a grin going inside the helmet on the return trip along Old US 80.

And on the return I hit an FJR odometer milestone. Had to pull off to the side of I-10 in heavy traffic to get the pic, but hey, anything for you dear reader.

So here it is...............

Waddaya think?

This is the first time in my life I have ever put anything near this kind of miles on any vehicle I have ever owned. The Dirty Ol Whore has been a hell of a bike. I've not been kind to her, but she's been great to me.

I guess you never really know about these things, can't anticipate them, but I am willing to wager that I will never see that odometer reading again on ANY vehicle I will ever own.

Life is good. :)
That is really something ! Gives me a real sense of security having bought a 2004 FJR last year as a play bike to go with my Road Star. The Road Star sits alot now as the Feejer is becomming my favorite bike to ride.

Planning a trip up the Blue Ridge Parkway this May with the FJR as well.
