Too busy, but it makes a nice change.

Wonder why Yammy don't offer alternatives to just solid colours. Something to do with the target market....hmmmmm thinking about that now?? <_<

I kind of like it but just not for me.

Its just a little too busy. and if you think about it . it also kind of reminds me of a cop bike in some countries.

But i have had some kind of busy paint jobs or decals on a couple of my vehicles..

Like an old school buss with red white and blue paint job and flames on the hood for a camper..

and a 01 toyota cylica with a full racing decal package like the trd racing in the atlanta grand prix.

And then there was my attempted paint jobs on my old suzuki water buffalo.. I had black widow spiders and spider webs on the fairing and saddle bags..

I guess i just march to a little different drummer than most peeps.

Not my cup o tea...

Now this???

I agree .. that looks great and probabally goes like a raped ape..

But im smart enough to know that if i had one of them i would probably kill myself on it..

As a professional artist (and airbrush artist) I have to say the FJR Reeses paintjob didn't thrill me, but looks well executed. It changed and distorted the sexy lines that the panels once had, Now the eye doesn't see speed in the bodylines, but instead follows the false lines of the paint colors.

I have been craving a full set of plastic to paint for my FJR, but don't want to use my original set. I don't know what a full set would cost, but with the right illustration work on it it could end up being priceless. I am a Medical Illustrator by profession, and I will eventually do a full set with interior and exterior anatomical illustrations. Yes, I mean realistic artwork, not some cheezy Harley-skull and dagger crap! My work is extremely realistic and very time consuming...They will be for sale... start saving!

I'd like a harley skull with two daggers goin thru the eyes. What's the wait time?

It's funny how at my age people will say things and it will remind me of stuff I haven't thought of in years.....

This reminded me of a guy I knew once who was telling me how he did a similar paint job on his gas tank. He wanted the spider web design too but nothing could give him lines as fine as he wanted. So one day he found the perfect real spider web in his shop, hit it with a few coats of white paint to build it up just a little, then carefully stuck his tank into the web. A couple coats of clear and he had his spider web design!

Weird...but I guess it worked...

Ray, that technique is one used by very few artists, but naturalists have been using it for years, except hair spray was the medium for preservation (lighter than paint and after it was "captured" the hair spray could be removed, a steaming process, I think). I'll bet it looked great!
