Again, the issue with a tub is the oils are floating on the surface (not dispersed like in a pool) and will stick to you as you stand up. After answering earlier, I thought about how a pool (in the shade) had worked well for me too (cool, chlorine, etc.) just stay in there for a couple of hours and move around so you get away from any oils being lifted off. Domboro works sort of like that (in that it's an astringent that will dry up the rash and is done as a cold compress (keeping it cool)).

The thing about cleaning under your finger nails is also great advice.

My son got it on his crank, then got it on his wife. Needless to say we weren't happy!

Steroids helped both. Time cures all.

If you'd a kept them elbows up, you wouldn't be itching' n' scratcin' right now..!

You're welcome for the free advice.

Now go spread some of that oil on public phones, door handles, toilet seats..

..so all your buds can appreciate what you're going through!

Nice vid Bill, looks like fun except the log crossings.

I make a living spraying poison oak (the western version of p ivy) and have spent 27 years in acres of the stuff. Yes I am allergic to poison oak so the prescription steroid cream is your best friend. Everything else is a waste of time. The key is a good shower and within a few hours you will feel the first itching, if you rub in the cream real hard on first itch it will be gone in no time.

We all know don't scratch your balls before the shower.

I think I will avoid trying to learn off-road at my advanced age. Thanks Bill.

I'll learn from Marty and avoid the ticks as well...

Lots of good suggestions already. Just want to remind you to wash the heck out out your riding gear. I actually got PO one time from a shirt

that evidently didn't get washed properly. Middle of winter I put on the shirt and next thing I got poison oak come a calling.

Alcohol helps. I prefer Makers Mark.
