Ditch pig.. you guys crack me up. That's gotta be the best thing I have heard in a while. Of course you might sound different if you ever have to pay what we have to pay for gas. When I manage to land me a job in the land of oppertunity, I am buying the baddest, fastest, gas guzzling American V8 sportscar I can afford. And I'll be laughing my *** off everytime I drive away from the gasstation.

Twn, according to Adam Sadler you must be a Scorpio ! Anyone that can do that to a sales manager has a future as a buyers rep.

Like TWN I'm in the same boat as far as diesel vehicles are concerned. Finally decided I would get a VW diesel, went to the local dealer here in NY and was told that they are not allowed to sell them. So now after test driving the Hybrids (Accord, Prius, and Escape) I've decided to stay with my 13 mpg, gas guzzling, overpriced, overrated, POS, four wheel drive, Toyota Tundra until they come out with something that interests me....

I have been pondering the idea of trading in my 04 Nissan Titan for a new Dodge Ram with the Cummins diesel. Rumor has it they are getting about 20mpg out of them... And they have tons of power!

The only thing stopping me is the fact that i would take it in the shorts on the trade in! :(

wifey drives a 00 Honda Accord 4 door 4 banger, EX model, leather sunroof, yadda, yadda. It has over 150k miles on it and run's like a top. She still likes it and so long as it continues to run w/no problems we will keep it, right now there appears to be no end in sight. Still gets great mileage, it just runs and runs and runs. I have a 03 Ford F150 supercrew w/5.4 V8, mileage sux----I don't drive it all that often--it still has less that 36k miles and is still under the 3 year warranty, Ride the feejer most everywhere.

AARP Special. 20 mpg, V-8 sound and snort, laughs at Hondas everywhere............

Radman,

I kid you not, my 93 year old neighbor just passed away and that is the EXACT car she drove....same sexy color and all...That is just too funny. I'll bet yours has the police interceptor package in it though...

What's with all you guys & the ditch pigs (that's front wheel drive to the uneducated)....come on lads....performance orientated bikes....performance orientated cars....super fuel efficient ditch pigs....truly sad ...pathetic actually.... :cray:  :cray:

Sorry, but, when you live in the northeast and drive over 30,000 miles per year, not having FWD or AWD is a pain in the arse during inclimate weather.

As the U has sold off squads, various, ummm, components have found their way over, yes........

I went with the 3 series w/ the 2.5L inline 6. I'm about 34 on slabs, about 27 overall average.

As much as I have like Bimmers, the electronic nightmare they have become has turned me off completely. Having a wife who did warranty admin for a B dealer didn't help. $3000 repair bills for what would be minor deals in a lot of marques is, to me, a deal breaker......

i've been wanting to take a look at the pontiac g6 retractable hard top. can't find one in bc so i called a dealer in calgary, had a wedding to go to anyway. sure we'll have several on the ground when you come.forgot i was talking to a car salesman. i was actually expecting to see one.

maybe the gods were telling me to give my head shake and buy a nice practical subaru. ya, thats the ticket.

derek

Forget the subaru!! I traded my Accord in for a black 06 Pontiac G6 GTP Coupe and haven't regretted it one bit. As awesome as that Accord was, this car is just as good for a hell of a lot less. Pontiac has done thier homework on this car and the torque in this engine is pretty impressive. So are the factory 18" wheels on it. Gas mileage isn't as good as the 27-30 mpg I got with the Accord but when the car costs so much less, I have a long ways to go before I'm behind on this deal. I thought about holding out for the convertible but couldn't wait. I was close to 60K on the Accord and sick of soup-stirring during my 60-90 minute commutes. Keep lookin for this one Derek, I think you'll be impressed!

After giving up on the insanity of buying an FJ Cruiser, we just picked up a Hybrid 4WD Highlander. After some assertive negotiation, the dealer knocked off $1800 and threw in a free alarm install. Eve loves the thing, and I like it just fine as well. But damn those things are expensive!

Yep, I've read JD Power and similar reports that both MB and BMW electronic problems are thru the roof. Dieter Zetsche has made it a corporate priority to get MB initial quality metrics back on top.

For my part, my experience has been a little different. I just sold an E30 3 series that I had for over a decade and 168,000 miles. It was literally bullet proof. My current car (pictured above) is an '04 and I'm glad I missed the whole i-Drive thing. I've used the i-Drive system several times, and it is a total pain in my view.

I use this when I'm just driving around the neighborhood, or going 1/2 a mile to get a quart of milk at the local Piggly Wiggly....

It only gets 2 miles per gallon, but that's ok... I own lots of Exxon stock. :****:
Groo....your definitely the man.... :coolsmiley03:

FYI....where I am it's $4.86 for 1 gallon of fuel....try that with a 36 gallon Bronco....(is your bum sore yet?)

:( In the why did I do that catagory: 2000 Mustang GT remapped engine, flowmasters on 21/2 inch exhaust, complete eibach supension struts, shocks, springs, and sway bars front and rear on 245/45X17 tires, traded for Jeep Liberty. Is that why I had to have the Fjr? Jeeps just won't generate the rush.

...and Mercs and Audis and Saabs and Volos and Jags and VDubs (my Passat had a lot of electrical gremlins). The engineers need to get the electronics sorted on these brands. While at the multi brand car store here in town, I was shocked at the amount of cars in for electric bugaboos - made it even easier to go the Marysville built jobby. Thanks, but when I shell out big coin, I'd like the friggin' thing to start (or even open the feckin' windows!).
