Anyone know what happened to the "other" FJR Forum?

I don't know if it is related or not but there have been some new members on the ST1300 forum recently. They are saying that someone named Steinar shut down MY-MC. Apparently he ran several motorcycle related sites.

I heard it was a hardware issue. Plus, remember these guys have jobs and families and run it voluntarily. Like this forum. So, it may take a little time to get things running.

There's another FJR forum?

Oh absolutely. I give full credit to anyone willing to go through this kind of shtuff for the benefit their fellow riding computer illiterate nerds.

Good juju on the hardware rejuvenation, and let the good folks at large know what they can do to help. ;)

There was a posting a couple of months back that the guy running that board was gonna pull the plug due to lack of time, resources, etc. Then several folks chimed in that they would be willing to take over hosting that forum.

How did the hosting issue finally resolve?

Still down... Is the site dying a slow death?

hardware + people have full time jobs that pay the bills, it's a week before Christmas, the list goes on, I'm sure... Hopefully, something can / will be salvaged.

Been down more than 2 weeks for my different links. When I asked elsewhere I was told it also no longer shows up in DNS tables. That's more than just hardware.

Maybe they just decided to shut it down and didn't want to hear any ****. I can understand that. However, that's not what I've heard. I think Wayne has it right, probably a lot going on in the background. BUT if they don't want to run it anymore I know several people, myself included, who would help keep it running. I'm not a tech guru but I have a lot connections and resources to keep something running. From what I can tell it pretty much went on without moderators. So that proves you don't need to be on it 24/7 policing everybody, most of us have jobs. I think it could work. It's a fun place with great people and lots of info. It would be shame to lose it.
