Oh wait... posted this in the wrong thread! Erin will be coming on the Clans ride in August... oops... )
Repeat after me:

I am not blond...I am not blond...

.........Oh wait, Barb might read this....

Nevermind!

MsNASCAR and I had lunch at the Nepenthe Restaurant last June on our way back from the Sonoma NASCAR race. Great sandwiches and food and when the fog isn't socked in, you will have fantastic views. There is plenty of seating and the area is great if just want to wander around. Good choice, puppychow. If we do it, we will need Friday and Saturday night in Cambria.

I'm in as a probable for two. Nepenthe is one of my favorite restaurants. Lisa and I just rode up there together in October and perhaps this will be her first big trip on her FZ6R.

FWIW...Ragged Point Inn is great to walk around and possibly stay but the restaurant DOES NOT compare. There is even a house on the point that can be booked that could accommodate a large group.

If you lock in the house, MsNASCAR and I get first dibs on the king bed.

I'll be there, guess I better say so on here and not just Fb huh. I have Friday off so I'll mosey north to Santa Maria and stay with Duff. Looking forward to seeing the part of PCH I couldn't get to last May because of the landslide.

Terri and I booked a room in Santa Cruz near the boardwalk, sharing with RogDeb. Maybe Highlander's can meet us for dinner Saturday night. Sunday I want to check out the Boardwalk before riding home.

Considering this is in my back yard, and a good opportunity to meet more forum folks, count me in. We'll have to coordinate a meeting place and time for everyone coming from the south.

I'll be missing the date by a week.

Could have been: NorCal meets SoCal meets NorOnt

I booked my next California excursion April 5th-9th. Hope to meet more of you guys on the road!

OK. So here is the scoop. I will update the first post also, so please do read.

I just got the paperwork from Nepenthe and here are some things - that was not conveyed to me on the phone!

1. Group lunches for a group our size HAVE to start at 11:30AM in the morning - this means the group HAS to be seated at the front deck by 11:30AM in the morning. April they are very busy from 1PM to 4PM as it is Spring Break. So, groups our size can't be seated any other time.

2. This will be a Group menu only. Limited menu choices available, but still good food. Single check plus 20% gratuity added.

3. We can as a group decide to instead gather as individuals at the restaurant. Still very highly recommended to show up before the rush which usually begins 12:30 - 1:00. Open menu and open seating (we may not all sit together), but it will depend on how busy they are that particular day.

Let me know your thoughts!!

Big Sur River Inn. It's where we've gone for the Celebration of Life rides. They've accommodated a group of about 50 people (called ahead and warned them of course!), food was really great, ample parking, and there is a back lawn area with a stream running through it that has these big Adirondack chairs that you can sit in and put your feet in the water if you want to. Very serene and peaceful... a few pics here from last year's ride:

As weekend rider stated, "Put me as a strong maybe will know as time goes on and gets closer."

I am just back from Colorado where the internet was even sparser than the snow. Still, a damned pleasant time.... and beautiful, too. Ed, Old Michael and you other pros with a camera, I have gone to school on your work and might be starting to commence to begin to get close to getting the hang of it. I think that we should hold some sort of get together in Crested Butte. Maybe take over the town like that other motorcycle gang.

When I got back to L.A. (and good internet service) I was very happy to see this thread - it is a great idea for a run, puppychow. I may have plans to be in New Mexico for an A-Bomb "festival" of some type that weekend. A physics-nut friend in Colorado is tracking it down for us and I will know the dates soon. If it happens I will have to re-read Richard Rhodes' book. Also, I have an appointment with the orthopedist late this month to take an MRI on my knees (yes, both) and after that I might be able to figure out a schedule for the spring and summer.

Old Michael my foot. That's Ansel Adams-level work, Joe. Nice shot. (Plus, yours is bigger.) Um, your picture, that is. . :)

Its been talked about staying in Cambria and in Big Sur for the overnight. I think we need to decide where the overnight will be and then I can look up camping spots. I have found a few in both places. Richard an Tyler have talked earlier about staying in Cambria.

San Simeon has camping and I can't book a site until the reservations open up in March. I propose the overnight be in Cambria because partying with Richard is always fun.

Will that work with everyone and who is actually going to camp?

Hey Goombah, tu Papa Chuy Viejo will camp with you in Cambria (separate tents?); partying with Richard is always fun, but partying with Tyler is superbly monumental!

I am sorry I had been busy doing some other stuff. I will call the hotels tomorrow and figure out where the overnight stay is. Probably going to be Cambria.

Also, the lunch spot is going to change. Nepenthe is too popular and they are giving me **** for a group our size. Guess we take our business elsewhere..

Stay tuned..
