I took delivery of my 06 AE yesterday, but kind of hated to see my 04ABS go, however, that's life. I was VERY apprehensive about launching directly into traffic, but this lasted less than one-half a block; can you say this clutch is EASY to modulate. While doing a modified Motoman breakin, I unintentionally got the front wheel up a bit, so it is clear that the taller gearing plus the YCC clutch has not adversely affected the FJR's ability to launch quickly.

My initial opinion of the 06AE is; smooth ride, smooth shifts, great suspension, ****** windshield. With a little help from a hacksaw (cutting a spacer and two screws), I managed to securely mount the Yamaha Top Box from my 04 onto the 06 in about 30 minutes, and surprise, surprise, the color matches perfectly!!!

Hey there NSFJR !!

There's been a couple folks take the leap in the HRM this year. I have the 06A and buddies I ride with have an 05 ABS and an 04.

Mind me askin' where you picked up yours?

Also if you're in the HRM area, feel free to PM me if you want the TBSync done etc.

Cheers

NFlyer, Truro, Power Wheels. I initially purchase an 04ABS in October 03, so I am quite familiar with FJR's, plus I have the tools to do a lot of my own work, including a MotionPro Econo, but thanks a heap for your kind offer. Do you know there is another FJR day in Moncton on Aug 26 at Atlantic Motoplex, with the ride commencing at 10:00hrs??? I attended last years; 8 FJR's and one HUGE BMW, and had a good time. Ride safe (if the F'ing rain ever stops!!!)............NSFJR

PS: Sorry about the double reply, I initially hit the wrong key

Hello gentlemen,

I was up to Atlantic Motoplex in Moncton a couple of weeks ago and, despite the posters they may have to change the date for the FJR Day. Bear this in mind before making specific plans.

If you guys want to meet for a coffee some evening let me know.

Good to hear. I thought the AE color looked like the 04 silver. Even better that one can possibly get a used 04 top box for the 06! (I have a deposit down on an AE in NM but can't get back there till the end of Sept.)

Gypsy, Based on the weekend weather forecast, a date change may be a blessing in disguise. If you hear of an ACTUAL date change, please post here or PM

Unfortunately I heard this afternoon that the event has been cancelled. No reason some of the local FJR riders couldn't get together anyway for a ride. Anyone up for that?

I'm up for a run. Let me know when and where. I still have the riders list from last year's ride.

I am a little curious if the sliver '03s are still the quickest. B)
