My wife got hit head on by a pickup yesterday. Her ZR7S Kawi is in many pieces but thanks to her gear and training she is in one piece. The doctor said there are no internal injuries and all the scans look good. She is going to be a sore puppy for awhile but she says she will ride again. As a typical biker, The first thing she asked while she was laying on the pavement was if the bike was OK.

I was ahead of her but Tim05fjr was right behind her and saw the whole thing.

The driver of the truck went right through a stop sign with no attempt to even slow down and hit her head on as she came around a bend with the right of way. She tried to stop but he didn't and Tim said that after he hit her the truck went over her leg and hip.

The ******* didn't seem to give a **** but there were to many people around for me to put him out of this world

I'm really glad to hear she's OK..! Bikes can be replaced or repaired; people, a bit less so. Keep us posted on how she's doing...

I get it. I bet she's going to be really really sore in a few days. Get her a bell to ring so she can summon you at her every whim?
I hope she heals up fast and am veryhappy she's OK.. wow. I wonder if she'll have any nightmares over this one? I might.

So sad to hear this Ray. Glad the SO is OK so far, just watch over her and get her healthy again. Sending my best wishes and prayers for a quick recovery.

Ray. Glad she is recovering. I believe I'd tske some of my best buds and pay ******* a visit at some perfect time in the future. Wish I lived closer, I'd like to accompany.

Ray,

Thanks for the call last night to let us know how she was doing. I was white knuckle riding the whole way back after.

What a ****** way to end a beautiful day. You guys are the best and I hope she heals quickly.

I will have that vision in my head for a long time. I will just have to let all the stunning mountian and lake views wash it away.

Thanks you again for taking the time to show us around.

Anything you need while I'm in town, just give me a call.

Dang, this is not what one likes to read when opening the forum!

Give Patti a hug for me. I assume the "idjit" is a local. Not good for him! AND you have a witness that he didn't even try to brake or avoid. Not good2! His name will be published in the local paper and certainly circulated among your band of hot rod, motorcycle and gun owning friends. Not good3!

I hope he has good insurance.

OTH: Patti is alive and not seriously damaged. :yahoo: Don opened an important subject as you know the residual mental/memory shadows plague some of us for some time.

You know she'll be sore and the bruises will start to surface today. The bell is a good suggestion...and...the mental picture of you running up and down the hall to take care of her every whim is, er, uhm, interesting.

Wow! Not good. I'm so glad she will be okay.

Did the police respond and take any enforcement action?

Ray,

It always sux any time one hears about a fellow rider being injured by an apparently inattentive drivers' actions, but I am sooo glad to hear that your SO will mend completely on the physical side. I also hope that the memories fade quickly. That to me would seem to be the hardest part; and I hope I never am faced w/that.

I'm hoping that there were significant citations against the offending driver? Although to me the citations will never seem to equal the harm done; and I'm not sure I coulda held back the way you did if anyone that close to me was harmed by someone elses' negligence. Good on ya for that.

PS - as an avid anti-gun control individual, Ford not bad....Ford driver bad.

The local Deputy was great and said his report would leave no doubt who was at fault and they would be bringing charges. Although it took some time cause we were out in the sticks the respones was great from all those involved and it was amazing to see that guy land a chopper where I didn't think it could be done.

That the deputy was even minded is good news. A situation like this certainly makes one appreciate first responders!

Might as well cross off the Enfield also. It lives in a collection in Hollywierd now. I will miss it but when things get tough the toys go first.

Always hate to here of things like this. I'm glad the injuries were not more serious. Hope she heals quickly and you can both put it behind you.

WOW! Thank God your wife is OK. That was not a good meeting.
I hope the guy didn't runaway, and he stopped and will pay for his stupidity in many ways.
There was no way in hell he was going anywhere. Unless he happened to be faster than a speeding bullet.
