Boy you can say that again. :clapping: Smitty installed one on my '06 and did a very professional job... and all in less than four hours. I traveled 450 miles to get it done, and it was worth it.

Thanks again smitty..your da man! B)

hmmmm...four hour install you say? I could 'possibly combine an IBA SS1000 ride with the job and kill two birds with one stone!

:)

Don't forget the guys in the Northeast!!!
I bet that we could get a bunch of guys together for a gang install someplace central. I can't offer you much in the way of riding the twistys this time of year... :angry2:

DFW (on your way to SA)
Not if he wants to go through trees instead of traffic :p :p !

Merry Christmas!

Shane

Just wanted to let everyone know I have done a few more AE's and they worked fine. I do mount the servo under the tank, and do not have to move the computers under the seat. It is added work to place it there so here my new price list for the 06 AE model... Thanks everyone , Smitty

FJR installs.. $310. for 2003-2006 FJR's A models. If you have a 06 A model and want it under the tank it will be the same price as a AE model.

The cost is $365. for a AE model.

This includes all labor, cruise unit, vacuum cam, and relay.

The relay was not included before.
Smitty,

How much of a PITA would it be to move my CCS from the seat to the tank?

Merry Christmas!

Shane
Shane, it would be a bit of work.. But the biggest problem is how far we are apart. If you or any other AE owner I have installed a cruise on will bring it back to my shop. I will move the servo for free. I feel this is just makes good sense. Any new installs will go under the tank from now on. So if you are ever close to Hooterville, I will fix you up..

Caryb, if I ever get down that way I will let you know. After my job ends in Feb, I may tour the country Doing installs for a month or so. Smitty :D
I will see you sometime in the spring (+ tire / smart tire install)!

Merry Christmas!

Shane

Well guys I landed a new job last monday, so I won't be touring the country doing installs. I do have several on the "books" for March and May. If your are interested in a install let me know so we can plan early. The only dates that are out so far are the following. I will do my best to work in anyone riding through this area and would like a cruise put on there bike.

I am also a sponsor for the SW-FOG rally, and giving away a free install. This will be "labor only". You pay for the hard parts. But still a $200 dollor value. Good luck.... Thanks Smitty

March 9-11.. riding to bike week

March 17th... install... -----room for one more-----

April 20-22... Cape Fear 24 hour endurance rally :yahoo:

May 11-13... Hooterville 400

May 19th.. Install.. -----room for one more----

Anyone wanting a cruise installed on 2003-2006 A models let me know. I can do it two ways...

These prices include ( wire ties, wire loom and vacuum can).

Install your unit............................... .$185. (includes vacuum can)

Cruise install (includes audiovox unit) $285. (included vacuum can)

My control pad bracket $15.

Relay $10.

Smitty,

You looking for someone to ride out to NM with? If so, I might be able to get off work and ride out with you. By May I will be looking for a good long ride somewhere.

John

I know we could get 10 guys to have it done in Los Angeles, Orange County. What is we all put in money to have you fly out? If the flight is $300 and we found 10 guys that wanted the mod, it would only be $30 more per person...

Hey Smitty, do you feel like wrenching while in Florida for Bike week? I'm in the Jacksonville area and you seem to be highly :clapping: recommended? Let me know and I will try to work out timing with you.

Regards,

Jaxfan

If this gets going I will drive down from Reno, NV for the install.

Your a little late! This happened last weekend.

Smitty

I Know you are only in Daytona 3 days, but if you want to do some installs while here I can offer my garage and tools. Will keep the grill going and the cooler full as well, counting me, looks like 3 installs.(so far)

I rode over to Hooterville this morning. 2h 40m later, Smitty had a cruise control installed on my FJR. Using it on the way back, it works great except for one thing. It doesn't disengage when the pegs are scrapping. What's up with that Smitty? :) .

All kidding aside, its an excellent addition to the bike.

Thanks,

John

Ditto on all the good comments, gave it a good workout yesterday, love that hands free flying.

I arrived in LaGrange at 10:30 PM 750 miles today and the last 200 miles were hands free thanks to Smitty. It was a little cool, 24 degrees when I left and it never got above 39 degrees and I had about 1 hour of riding in snow flurries. :dribble:
