Glovebox plug on my 2014"A" isn't working. GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRr..!!

I've checked and changed the fuse 3A

Still no go.

The group have any ideas??

TIA

(assuming the key is on)

Was the original fuse blown, and if so, did the replacement fuse blow without putting any load in the socket?  If that is the case, then pull the A, B, C, and D dash panels and start with the wiring and connector for the socket at the glove box, concentrating on anything that would appear to be a shorted or grounded circuit.  After that, it's time to pull out the wiring diagram and get serious....

IIRC I once plugged an adapter into that socket and it didn't work because the adapter plug was too short to reach the center contact. Be sure something like that isn't happening.

In your troubleshooting make sure the wires are hooked up to the socket. Entirely possible the PO re-purposed them for another use...

I've actually tried a few different adapters.

original fuse was not blown, so I took it out and re-seated it.

Then I took the replacement and installed it - nothing

Ignition was turned on

interesting - ya I hadn't thought of that.

Albeit, there aren't any other "extras" hooked up, lighting, horn, etc.

Assume the previous owner tried to use the socket for a load that was more than its low-amp design was meant to handle.

What things might have been "broken" between the fuses you checked and the device being plugged in (including a bad socket)?

If I read it right (where you posted the same question to another FJR forum) you still have a YES contract on this. If so, quit screwing around and make them earn the money you gave them for the YES.
