In with the new....

Springs installed, radiator back into position, ready to fire it up and test for for leaks!

Plenty of engine case clearance.....

O2 sensor sniffs Cylinders 3 & 4, as it did on the stock set-up.....

Close-up of anti-rattle spring covers.....

With the dB Killer baffle left in, the noise output is stealthy as can be....

However, around 5000+ RPM, things start to liven up nicely.... B) I'll see about getting a sound bite of the exhaust tomorrow.

I'd like to get them installed tomorrow, and not dink around trying to find a place to coat them.
Screw that!

Come fix my clutch!!!
Scoot,

You sound like a girl, or a wife. Are you planning on marrying WC? LOL.

WC,

Lookin' great. I really want the Orange 08 and get this- the wide/CFO has preapproved it. I will probably wait and get one used that has all the mods.

Bet changing that oil filter is fun.
Prolly just have to remove the O2 sensor? Looks like enough clearance from the pipes to remove it. It'll take more than a little strip of foil to keep things from getting messy though. Nice system.

Yes, it's a treat.

The biggest ass-pain is removing the side cowling.... and, of course, the filter sits directly over the header pipes. Even then, there are oil cooler lines in the way. Nice, Suzuki. :glare:

I was just looking at that filter also. Is that a guard under the filter? Can you remove it before you put it back together, would it help you get the filter out in the future? From the picture it looks like it would be hard to get something around it to loosen it.

Sorry you posted the picture when I was typing.

Wow, I had no idea that any modern day bike would be that ridiculously configured...

That must be a real treat to get to when it's nice and warm. Are all Bussa's like this or is this a new thing?

I guess it could be worse, could be a 'cartridge' :)

1. So what's the deal-e-o with 4 into 2 exhaust versus 4 into 1 exhaust? (besides the obvious weight savings)

I've heard 4-2 gives better mid-torque, 4-1 gives better peak HP.

Mainly due to back pressures, but something else about plus wave tuning.

2. Why are ther no 4-1 available for thr FJR?

3. With 1/3 the exhaust system volume wouldn't it backfire like a bitch on decel?

(not to mention loosing back pressure from the cats)

I read the ZX-14 guys are plugging the scavenged exhaust air intake to help.

Just head scratching.

Yea, Warchild, what he said! ????? :detective2:

Another question:

What made you choose the Busa over the ZX-14? Looks? Performance?

I have a '08 ZX-14 on the way. I just haven't quite decided between the dark blue or the silver. You are the farkling champion, however. Beautiful piece of machinery! Looks 110% better with your mods!
