I came across this video of Ara and his dog, Spirit. Ara lost his only son to cancer at age 26. Ara chucked everything he owned, and along with his dog, he hit the road in a BMW GS w/ a sidecar in an attempt to find some answers.

One of the best videos I've see at capturing the true essence of motorcycling.

Ara is a friend of mine... met him a few years ago at a Pashnit gathering at Sopiago Springs. I subscribe to his blog (www.theoasisofmysoul.com) and get the gift of seeing him every now and then even (Death Valley trip last April). His photos are out of this world.

Ty ~ I spent considerable time on Ara's site last night after finding your comments here... that is some intense and interesting reading. I can well understand how someone such as yourself, who has worked through a seriously life-altering experience, would find a strong connection on many levels with someone like Ara. Every time I read something from you on this board I say a little prayer of thanks for your continuing recovery and your unfailing positive outlook on life in general. :clapping:

Ara sounds like someone I would very much like to meet someday, just as I hope to finally make connection with you in person one day... thought I had it figured out for the WFO meet in Idaho Falls this summer, but it was not to be, eh? :blink:
