+1 year later, the mighty-fine-POS Yz426 runs again, without a nasty lower-end thump-tump-thump sound.

Of course, being of, uhh, well, elder years, I'm facing typical stuff..

* Rear brake reservoir broke the plastic flange

* Both fork seals leaking

* Petcock damn near needs a set of pliers to move..

So today ordered parts n' stuff and got to replacing fork seals.

Certainly easier than messing with an FJR..

Any other dirty types out there recognize this process and smile?

Carver, do you have any motorcycles that are in good working shape????

Let's see ... FJR with a (possibly) blown head gasket, your KZ1300 with a basket case engine and now the YZ426. Ever think it might be a good idea to just start all over again?

Just kidding. Wish I had the time and money for multiple bikes in the stable!

Now that you have the YZ running when will you post up the video of your double backflip attempt??

I leave motocross to the lower lifeforms.

Ross, everything I own is old and broken. Just like me!

Last weekend rode MX for first time 18 or so months. What a joke. Two old guys rolling every obstacle.. an NO video allowed, jebus, I have *some* dignity left! :p

LOL! That hits home. When I was a kid I used to race MX. Flash forward 30 something years. One of the guys I work with has a KTM 450EXC. Take it out he says. The brain still knows what to do. The body.. well the body says you do what your thinking of doing and I'll lay a world of hurt on you.

So I rolled over the whoops and popped the front wheel up a few times to smooth them out. After I got off the bike buddy looks at me like the worlds biggest bullshitter. Then admits that he saw the skills are there then asked wtf. Ever try to explain to somebody your getting old and break easily?

Problem: Now I want one. Bad.

I am the WhoopMastertm. I could go for miles in Turkey Point dancing off the tops of the whoops. At least until having my knee replaced. Now I can't do much but try and roll over everything. I used to jump over logs as big as buses but now even crossing a twig is a challenge. If I ever find the guy that said life begins at 40 I'm going to punch his lights out.

How about a replay of your tipover from this past fall.. the one where you spook in tongues

I'm no pussy, and I'm way younger that most of you geezers, but even I gotta admit that falling down these days hurts a hellavua lot more than it used to. I used to kind of bounce and get right back up. Now I bounce less and crack more...As evidenced by my recently broken foot.

I actually feel better after hitting the gym hard for the last 4 weeks, but getting older definitely sucks, and I'm not as brave as I used to be.

... and I'm not as brave as I used to be.
To be brave on a dirt bike takes a lack of imagination on just how much it is going to hurt when it all goes wrong.

When they interview the freestyle motocrossers they almost always come across as not exactly the sharpest knife in the drawer.

I've had my share of visits to the emergency ward after certain miscues but I don't go out of my way to test my mortality.

For some strange reason Bust thinks this is funny  I'm blaming this on the forks.

That WAS funny, sorry YamaFaller!

Got everything re-assembled then went riding on my track.

Got about an hour total, in 10-15 minute segments.

It's not about running out of wind, rather my hands, left thumb in particular.

It came out of joint twice.

That hurts.

If you take your thumb out of your ass first it doesn't hurt as bad. :p

Yeah, but it won't be as warm or as well-lubed!
