Finally, almost 9 months later, my yz426, vintage 2000 has (hopefully) been correctly diagnosed and is ready for pickup.

I know, it's a POS as compared to current dirt bikes, but she's paid for, and carries a VIN that allows street licensing in Kali  so to me she's worth the approx 1k I just spent to get the lower end fixed.

And, just knowing this bike is returning has inspired me to hit the home-gym and start working out again..

and checking out the OTMX.com site to see when the ol' pharts are racing and where...

Almost nothing is more fun than laying down an ***-kicking on newer bikes with tons of dollars for unobatinium parts with an old POS bike...

Anyone interested in watching the carnage for my first return to MX?

yup

I'm thinking Don Carver's FJR Pitt Posse! There for all your needs for the race. Drinking all the beer in your cooler during practice, scoping out the trophy girls and scratching our *** while you tune the bike. Every true racer needs a crew.

It would be fun to come watch though Don, unless you start taking it seriously.

Now THAT'S what I'm talking about! :clapping:

I mean....talk about a "win-win" situation. :yahoo:

Be still, my heart, you're not as young as you once were....

The yz426 made it home today after spending over 1 year at the shop. I told the tech 'no hurry' and he took me up on it! :)

Nevertheless, she is home, and no more tunk tunk thunk sounds from the lower end. New crank, counterbalancer bearings, timing gear sets, carb kit, throttle cables.

My bud TomC styling on his 250. He's more an off-roader than MotoMan, but he did great on the track!

He Corners!

He leaps through the air!

Action foto sequence.

Approaching the 80+ ft table top, blind takeoff.

Starting to concentrate..

I'm thinking to myself, TC, stay on the throttle!

Every comeback has to start somewhere, yesterday was it for me.

My biggest 'accomplishment' was jump the smallest double on the track. <sigh>

And today, I feel sore, but am walking taller, somehow.

I want to get the racer's edge back....

(I wasn't always a CBA street-bike-*****!)
