When I put the Russell saddle on my FJR I found that the stock bar position was bad and the Gen Mar risers, while making it better, weren't a sufficient solution. So I coughed up for the Heli-bar risers. I installed them this weekend and it's a big improvement, but I'm still feeling canted forward and not quite seated right on the Russell. (Yeah, yeah, I've got dinosaur arms--stfu. :p )

Anyway, I was wondering if there's any reason I couldn't go down to my friendly neighborhood bolt store (viva Hillco!), buy sufficiently long (and grade 8?) bolts, and mount the Heli-bars on top of the Gen Mar risers. I don't visualize the bars as dealing with all that much stress and 3 grade 8 bolts should be able to handle a lot of stress, no?

Thanks for the (insightful, considered, etc.) thoughts as always.

u might be the first to try. Heli claims that after mounting the triple tree risers you stock cabling & wire arent long enough to reach both sets. But if you have nothing to do try it, i was wondering myself the samething. I'm waiting for my risers as we speak.....well type

Ah crap. Didn't think of that. It won't work with the stock cables and hoses. Oh well. It seemed like a good idea at the time.

Thanks for kicking my brain into gear.
