battery location

Wow, I just saw where the battery is located. Kinda crazy, will it affect handleing sitting astride the forks and so high? Is the gen 2 battery in the same location. Should this post be in the tech section?

The battery is pretty small, all things considered. I wouldn't sweat it.

The weight of the battery doesn't seem to be a problem, and it is Absorbed Glass Mat, so it won't spill if you take a spill. The only problem is that it is harder to get to than some other bikes.

Those with Gen II bikes just keep old wheel weights in the glove box to offset the imbalance........

Gen 1 guys just use their new spare Stator and/or CCT as offsetting ballast.

Don't listen to these guys. They don't know what their talking about. They need to quit picking on the new guys. You should remove the battery. Like you said being up so high it is guaranteed to upset the bike. You can remount it under the seat in the tool tray. Just lay it on it side (don't worry it sealed). You will need to buy longer cables but if you can't find them just use some 12 gauge wire.

Thank guys, I don't mind ya bustin my chops, I've been riding a long time and I don't mind sounding like a newb cause I just don't know this particular bike. I will put the battery relocate on my list of things to do. Getting a seat that doesn't munch my ass is priority number one. When it comes to seats I am hard to please........I did the heat fix and it took care of 90% of the heat on the really hot left side and about 50% better on the right side which wasn't as bad to begin with so I have that problem solved me thinks. Haven't had a hot day to test the heat output but it's looking good from what I can feel riding in moderate weather.
