"Beachy" hit a deer this morning!

DAM, hate to hear about things like this. Deer are everyware and you just hope it doesnt happen to you. They come out of nowhere and you have vary little reaction time. :glare: :glare:

Damn sorry to hear of your accident, but I'm glad you lived to tell about it. I know from personal experience (3 times) how quickly a forest rat can impale itself on the front of a bike. Hope you never have to experience it again and you heal quickly.

First, we all hate to read this kind of report but are relieved about the prognoxix.

Second...Really Old Michael is absolutely correct! Morphine does bad things in your intestinal tract while it works magic for pain management.

Seriously....ask for stool softeners if they aren't already giving them to you.

I've had some of the injuries you posted here and the recovery is "interesting". Once you are released and go home, you'll want to sleep in a recliner rather than trying to lay flat on a bed. Ttrust me, I KNOW....more than once...or even twice! :dribble: Fractured shoulder blade...piece of cake.

Nagging wife...well,. YOU asked her to marry and YOU had the incident and YOUR phone call and injuries have scared the bejesus out of her. What do you expect, roses? :huh:

Use the morphine plunger...you need to sleep so your body can rest. That will aid in the healing process.

Heal quickly and well. Then worry about fixing or replacing the FJR with another Superior Gen I.

well i got a shower this morning that feels much better.pain not too bad morphine was at the hospital only and i hated the feeling of it. trying to avoid pain pills have taken 2 though. all in all i feel much better today

as for the wife she has been good. that was more of a joke than anything.dont get me wrong though she would love it if the bike were gone. been riding for 4 years and she knows if thet cut my veins open bike parts would be mixed in with the blood. shes been good

I've broken 5 ribs before (skiing accident), but didn't have the bonus fractured shoulder blade to go with it.

If I remember, it took about 5-6 weeks before I could get off the pain meds. I was on a combination of oxycontin and oxycodone, and I didn't want that shit in my system too long. About three days after I got out of the hospital I had to sleep on the recliner (couldn't lay down), and another few weeks before I could sleep on my side (and I'm a side sleeper, dammit! )

Anyway, heal well and soon!

Heal up. I've busted and dislocated ribs before. I know, it's not much fun. Try not to get a cold.

But you'll be in good shape by the time the weather clears up for the really good riding!
