I'm thinking that with Don's background, girth, taste in motorcycles and the fact that he is Irish, this is the perfect ride for him! JSNS!

Did someone cover a bike with glue and drag it through an Arizona hooker's jewelry box???
Como se dice? Mi Amiga Leticia Hernandez much prefers a loftier term "Professional Escort" to lowly "hooker", ya Florida *******! jes' sayin' and nuff said, ese!

Dudes and Dudettes, this Certified Old Fart has never bought a motorcycle in his 66 years of living without seeing it in person and putting at least 10 miles on a used bike!

Should I be afraid of this deal? Is there a way for me to double check Mr. Richardson's bonafides? I did find it odd that he left no phone number so we can talk this over!

Hi Teddy, Thank you for your Service, I was United States Army Artillery from 1968-1974 firing M102A - 105mm towed Howitzers. I'm 66 years old and I have never used eBay, you will note I've copied my two friends Don C. and Bill H. to get their take on this. I certainly have additional references, can you provide me with the same?

Sincerely,

Don StanleyChandler, AZ 85225

Hello,

I'm glad that you are interested in buying my 1980 Honda CBX . The bike has been extremely well maintained with a full service history, and has not been involved in any accidents. It only has 4,409 miles on it and the title is clear. I bought it when I was serving at Hill Air Force Base, Utah but I was promoted and transferred to Elmendorf AFB in Anchorage Alaska for a 2 year period, so I do not want to let it rot in my backyard and therefore need a fast and reliable buyer. The bike is already at our Department of Logistics at Hill Air Force Base, Utah crated and ready to go. The shipping will be free for you because I will transport it using the internal transport system we have here at the Department of Logistics! The DoL will deliver the bike to the nearest Air Force Base from your area and from there I will use a tow-truck to have it delivered to your door. The whole shipping process will take 3-4 days. The financial part will be managed by eBay, which means you will have a 5 day inspection period before committing to buy the bike. In this way, both you and I are 100% covered during the steps of this transaction. I would really like to get at least $5200 so if you are interested in making this purchase in a timely manner email me your: full name and shipping address, so I can inform eBay that I have a buyer! I will forward your details to them and then you will receive the invoice.

For more pics please get back to me as soon as possible!

Thank you,
Teddy

Now this Decrepit Old Man is really starting to scratch his head and his ***, at the same time! Teddy Richardson just sent me an identical email but for a Ducati!

Hello Don,

AMVETS Post 22–98.
I'm glad that you are interested in buying my 2012 Ducati Superbike . The bike has been extremely well maintained with a full service history, and has not been involved in any accidents. In the ole Army every post had a Post Locator. You could call that office and they would tell you the unit a person was in. Do not know if the Air Force has such a thing, but worth a check to see if he is stationed in AK. Also, it is now called Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson.

I would feel a bit uneasy about his response. The unusual circumstances may be legit, but I would want more verifiable info.

EDIT: Saw the second Ducati letter. Treat him like a Ho with the pox.

Kevin, I'm starting to get real nervous and very concerned about Teddy R. I give him my phone number each time and he never offers his. Ever since Niehart gave me a Wet Willy at SouthWest FOG, I'm very cautious! jes' sayin' and nuff said, Yucko!

I sent you a wrong email.
The bike is in perfect working condition, oil was changed last month and no scratches or dents. Below are the bike photos.
After talking with eBay, it sounds like the transaction works like this: You need to send me your FULL NAME, shipping ADDRESS and phone number. I will forward them to eBay so we can initiate our transaction with them. Once the transaction has started, we will both receive further instructions about it including a payment invoice. You will need to make the payment to eBay as eBay will give me the shipping instructions to start the shipping. I will ship the bike to your address and after you receive it, you'll have 5 days to inspect it; drive it and check its' documents before actually deciding to keep it. During this whole time eBay will hold your money in their trust account. If you're satisfied with the bike and decide to keep it, you will need to inform eBay about this, and eBay will release the entire amount of money to me.

If the bike is not as I described it and you decide not to keep it, then eBay will refund your deposit in full, no questions asked and shipping back the bike will be my concern.

Please take into consideration and remember that I will get paid only AFTER you receive the bike and confirm that you indeed want to keep the bike after the inspection period. We are both covered. Sorry for the long email as I have tried to explain the entire process.

Thanks,
Teddy

Sounds phishy. I'd be calling ebay...
Mi Hermano Donaldo, the very first thing I did after TR mentioned eBay was to look for his CBX 1000; it's nowhere on eBay, so why would you list on Craigslist but then sell through eBay! You know what else sounds phishy, it this bike is all that TR says it is why is he selling it for only $5,200! Way under Market Value!
