With the seat set to high I'm not loving the wind protection at any level with stocker. Checked out V-stream. Is there product going to really reduce noise and buffeting? I have normally used C Baileys in the past. Are any of them better than the others with regard to reducing that dreadful head buffeting?

My vote goes to Laminar Lip, Cheaper and effective

CeeBailey +4 wide, +2 high, w/flip, Light Gray Tint

I have two CB shields, one on each bike. I'm still amazed at the significantly reduced buffetting of the +4w over the +2w. Never thought the width would be that much of a factor on the head turbulence, but it is!

Great product IMHO. Great people to deal with. Quality is 2nd to none.

BTW, even youngsters with good hearing who ride my bike, comment that earplugs aren't really necessary on my FJRs. I never wear earplugs, but then again, I really don't have any hearing left anyway.

:(

This is like asking "Where is the best BBQ". You are gonna get positive responses from all camps. I'm kinda big on the CalSci Medium, but am gonna get a Cee Baily's to get tint. I really think all of the after market screens are an improvement, with subtle differences. Good Luck

Willie, I hate your picture of your busted leg. That is one major problem about this area. Too many friggin deer! Not enough hunters either. I try to remember when I'm along 146 I am riding in a game preserve. Thanks for the input from all of you guys. Is there one clearly better screen? The Rifle looks cool but whats all that extra stuff it needs?

Not sure what I will do but I will end up with something, prolly start with the laminar lip.

So true. How can anyone truthfully answer without trying every windscreen out there. I just road tested a Cali Sci medium on a 3000 mile ride. I'm 5ft 8in tall with a 29 inch inseam and I love this product. Having said that I'll keep my original for hot summer days here in Florida.

Yammie touring screen worked for me. Barn doors prolly work better but looks count and I like the slight curve toward the rider- doesn't look quite as goofy in the up position..I'm @ 6 ft. and never feel the need to wear earplugs. For a really quite ride I take the shield off my Shoei RF1000 and wear sunglasses.

Well, you're right for the most part. Too bad we can't all afford that, but take your time and try out others' windshields where you can. I had a CalSci tall, and it was better than stock but crappy. Too narrow at the top gives buffeting around the ears and shoulders, earplugs a definite necessity. Rifle solved all that. The Baker Air wings are for anybody with any shield if you want extra air or to block it. However, for the most part, it all has to fit the individual and preferences. I went for function over looks, but still looks pretty good to me.

Laminar Lip! Best $80 farkel you can find. It's a bit strange looking (some might say ugly) but it works and is easily removed when needed.

If it's truly ugly, Grumpy needs one. Ugly things make him feel good.

:D

Popped the Rifle +3 today and was it ever easy to install. After I located the 2 allen screws hidden under the mask. Serious, took 15 minutes. And the results are very very good. Never had so little buffeting. At the lowest setting there was slight, and I mean slight buffeting, Raise it up, perfect quiet air pocket. Zero buffeting. So glad I listened to you guys and went with the Rifle. No more searching out fifty different windshields to get rid of the dreaded buffeting. Whew!

+1 on the LL. I have a large Cal Sci window, which by itself is pretty darn good, but with the LL added, life is serene behind the screen.
