2016AE with about 50k miles-
Not long after the brake switch and transmission recall was completed, I noticed the Cruise Control would turn on, but not set.
First theories were bad switch, crushed wire, or something else to do with the transmission work.
The bike passed all the diagnostics. Many heads scratched.
Much work and parts swapping later, no joy.
Yamaha Canada finally suggested ECU replacement.
First ECU lost in the Dec floods and storms that paralyzed BC.
Second ECU installed, and again, without success.
While staring at the bike, tech saw this - (looking from left side)
and found this inside the sheath-
This wire terminates at the clutch switch.
Thank goodness for Yamaha Extended Warranty (which expired while in the midst of this repair)
