Say it aint so! The Raider is the best looking cruiser to come out in some time. I'm sure you will enjoy it, but I bet you will miss the performance, comfort and versatility of the FJR.

Good luck with the new bike len, I looked at those when they first came out and although Im not a cruiser guy I thought it was nicely done. In fact in another thread I questioned why yamaha would put a bigger badder vtwin in this rather than the warrior. Where you tired of the fjr or what made you trade. Just curious. Stan

I really enjoyed the FJR.. except my neck began aching (helmet strap pressure, etc) after an hour or so. Always rode cruisers and I decided not to make extensive mods to the FJR to get it to "fit me". FJR is a fine machine.. but guess I'm just an old fella that loves a set of big jugs.. hahaha

The one nit I read (but considering the nature of the bike I think you should not be surprised) is the turn-in took a lot of effort due to the wider rear tire. Another rag said it handled and turned better than any other similarly configured bike......

Give us a full 'seat-of-the-pants' report when you feel ready....... I'd like to hear it.

I'll give you an update once I've put some miles on the new bike. I've ridden it just the once but did do some figure 8s in the college parking lot.

It handled very well, especially considering both the 40 degrees of rake and the 210 rear tire. Prior to the FJR I had the 07 Softail with a 200 back foot. I had no trouble at all with it. They won't have the handling or turn in of the FJR but both handle good for a cruiser.

The 113 cubic inch motor is the big news.. pure torque from the first little twist of the happy handle.

Another thing I appreciate, the fine details and quality fit and finish.

Yes toecutter, that's the bike. The one you posted is the "base" model - lots of black parts. The one I purchased is the "S" version - same bike just lots more shiny stuff.

We looked at the Raider too! Beautiful bike

We spent some time on crusiers, but came back to sport/touring. If only we could all be like Jay Leno and have all the bikes we want...ready to go.

I love the look of the Raider :dribble: with the exception of the rear wheel... It just looks too small in comparison

They need to throw some serious rubber back there or drop the *** end some more

The wheel diameter and the low profile add to that impression; That's a 210 radial Metzler out back, plenty of beef when viewed from the rear.

Great looking bike. This would be my first choice if I was in the market for a cruiser. You'll have to let us know how the two bike compare after you've racked up a few miles.

My compliments on the Raider. I’ve had the opportunity to take a couple of test-rides :bike: on one a red one. I liked it very well.

Didn’t buy it. Wife is still trying to talk me into getting a Wing.
