Old Yeller is down for the count.

Heading back to Denver for the end of ButtLite 8 when I hit a muffler. Tore up the underside up pretty good and am afraid it's a wrap for this girl.

Anyways, I am having iit picked up and delivered to Laramie, WY. I am currently just east of Rawlins on I-80. I guess what I am asking is if anyone lives in this general vicinity that could store the bike until I found a way to pick it up.

Email me at mmyren at gmail dot com

Yeah this kind of sucks.

So sorry to hear Mike, but hopefully your person came through unscathed - that's a big piece of road debris to run over and stay upright.

I'll post a pic of it when I return home.

I'm a bit exhausted at the money to get into further details, but suffice to say I zigged just enough to not run directly into it. Just didn't have enough to zig and zag.

Meant to say "moment"

I just talked to Mike & he's got his bike on a flat bed & being delivered to a Yamaha dealership in Laramie. Is there anyone near there that can help him out?

He's not sure how long they will store it for him.

Mike it was great to chat a few minutes at Boomtown, if I were closer I'd be there. Big like to Marty's suggested link. and wishing you better days ahead, Bug.

Mike,

You know this is really "Good" news. Just think if this were to happen a year from now. You got this ---- out of the way so you will be on a

newer FJR for the Big Dance. Sorry this happened, but YOU are OK and another bike is waiting for a chance for someone like you to ride

the tires off it.

Hold your head up, the best is yet to come!

Dayum!

Sorry to hear aboot this. I'd offer assistance, but I'm 1500 miles away.

But, glad that YOU are OK, Mike!

OK so this is what I hit at about 3:40 Saturday morning

And this is the damage it inflicted

All things considered, I think I was pretty fortunate. It could have been much much worse as some of you guys have pointed out.

When I look at where it made contact on the plastic, I must believe that the side of the front wheel had to have made contact. So very close.

So tomorrow morning I'll be having a hitch installed on the Altima and then be heading back west to retrieve it. With 223K on it's clock and one previous insurance claim, I doubt there'll be any insurance money coming from this. So once again I'll be looking here to find a replacement right panel. Hopefully I won't be in need of a motor, but I won't know that until I tear into it a bit.
