A big thanks to Jeff. My wife got me a set of Leo's for Christmas. She is a pretty demanding customer, meaning she expects good service. She didn't have enough good to say about Jeff and Sportbikeeffects. Now I just have to wait until January to get them.. :) . Thanks again Jeff!

One more thumbs up to this guy. Just got my Staintunes in from SportBike Effects, really prompt service. Much apprectiated. By the way the quality of those pipes is impressive with great sound. Thanks again.

Last year I had made a purchase from Bike Effects to which I left negative feedback in this vendor's section.

I was thoroughly chastized by cast & crew here on the forum for sharing MY experience.

Anyway, I decided to give Jeff another try. You know... giving him the benefit of the doubt.

I realize that the warehouse that my item was drop shipped from was only a state away... but 2 days! My item arrived here in 2 days! Unreal.

I would like to thank him very much for his fast & friendly service. Perhaps I made too quick of a judgment & I do apologize for that.

Jeff does a real good job! He called me to answer questions about the Starcom intercom which I ordered from him. The calls made my decision EASY.

I received my GPS stem mount Monday and installed it yesterday. Jeff sent 2 nuts that replace the original in case one did not work. Now that's what I call service. He even called me when I ordered my throttle meister and cleared up everything I screwed up when ordering on line last month. :clapping:

Thanks Jeff, still hope to hook up with you guys some sunday am at the junction.

Another BIG THUMBS UP :thumbsupsmileyanim: for Jeff at BIKEEFFECTS! Ordered some heated gear that he does not usually carry but Jeff went the extra mile and fulfilled my order. :yahoo:

Ordered a Starcom1 Advance and a PCIII for an 06A from Jeff by phone the other day. It was fantastic to talk to someone that

took his time to help and explain his product. Can't wait for the snow to disappear.

I'm compelled to write this post because I have never had such GREAT customer service from anyone.

The dealer's tech lost the cap to my rear 90 degree valve stem purchased from BikeEffects.com.

I didn't notice it for some time. I called Jeff at BikeEffects.com hoping I could purchase just a valve cap. Luckily he had an extra and, AT NO CHARGE, sent it to me.. Well, it cost Jeff $1.60+, materials, etc., not to mention his time.

Thanks Jeff, I feel badly for imposing on you. All I can do is spread the word about great customer service to be had at BikeEffects.com. Oh, and thanks for spending an hour tutoring me in how to do a TBS with the new Carbtune I purchased from you. Another example of superb customer service....

You know I should have posted up earlier. I bought a battery from jeff and it arrived on time and he even checked up on the shipment for me when I was getting ants in my pants because of a surprise hot day back in Feb.

Thanks Jeff

+1 on bikeeffects... I spoke with Jeff on the phone today with a question about the Starcom; he was very friendly and helpful!

Bought a Starcom1 Advance from Jeff. Great service. Awesome communicdo.

I have a problem with my unit as it seems that PTT switch isn't doing what it's supposed to do. He's right on the ball and let me know that some others have had the same problem and he's working to get the fixed PTT units from Starcom. Some of you may not realize what a royal PITA it is to deal with low volume manufacturers like Starcom.

Kudos to Jeff

(send me my check now, Jeff) :)

got the 90 valve stems from bikeeffects.com, most likely the first of many things to come from bikeeffects.com.

+2 for Bikeeffects. Jeff called me personally to answer questions and purchase what I needed. He then took care of shipping my new Starcom1 Advance to my hotel in Cleveland when I was down there last Sunday (Neil diamond show ROCKED BTW). This saved me a bundle on border taxes and handling fees into Canada. Now I just have to find the time to install it!!! Fantastic customer service!! Thanks Jeff!!

Well I guess I should be careful what I wish for. No sooner had I typed the above post when it began to rain (again). This prevented me from continuing the excavation in my backyard for my addition, as it's a total mud pit back there!!! It is fun operating the mini-excavator though

So I head out to the garage and begin the task at hand. It was rather straight forward I must say. It took a bit of time gettting the headsets into the helmets but the Starcom itself was a breeze!! Haven't taken the SO out for a test ride yet but we played with the helmets in the garage and seemed to work great. I then tested the MP3 through the system on my way in to work tonight and I was mystified at how the volume increases with speed.....very cool. Oh ya.......Bikeeffects is great eh!!!

Jeff, I will be ordering a cable for my phone, and the PTT for the FRS very soon!

I just got my order today.

Jeff did not have what I wanted in stock and would have to order it.

He said it would not be to him till the end of this week.

I don't know how he did it but it is here.

A BIG THANKS TO JEFF FOR THE FAST SHIPPMENT

Joe

As it cools down and people come in doors after racking up copious amounts of miles on their bike...it's reminder time on some board etiquette.

This doesn't apply to everyone if there was a way to easily target the people who need to hear this message...I really would. Really I would.

Regardless, some reminders to help us navigate the colder months without resorting to poking people with sharp sticks.

Thanks for playing along. ;)

Board Posting Tips and Other Etiquette
Forum Categories

FJR Specific Discussion is for items directly about the FJR....the stock FJR to be specific....that aren't covered in other areas.

This is the number one area people try and stuff threads incorrectly because it's easy and popular. In fact, last survey was 14 out of 37 had to be moved. That's a little over 1/3 and a lot of work for admins that would otherwise like to do other things to make the forum better.

Hint #1: If it isn't stock on the FJR it definitely doesn't belong in this area.

Many of the mis-started threads actually belong in Part and Accessories. You want to talk about that add-on PCIII, that after-market exhaust system, a Yamaha top case that didn't come with the bike as a stock item, that jacket or set of gloves, etc.......then start it in
https://www.fjrforum.com/forum//index.php?showforum=57Parts and Accessories
https://www.fjrforum.com/forum//index.php?showforum=57.

Hint #2: Don't be placing it in this area because you want to "maximize exposure". That's a guaranteed way to annoy an admin
.

Regional Ride Planning and the sub areas are for planning or information that is regional in nature. You saw somebody in your area of the country? This is also a good area for that.

Hint #3: Not sure which area to plan a ride? Please post only once in either your best guess...or start it in the level higher.

Ride Reports are for after you've done a ride....not before. Think of this area as past tense. Also an appropriate area for short rides or even the occasional drop....doh!

Never Ending Pointless Recurring Threads

You can't actually start a thread in this area. If yours gets moved...ask yourself if it was a recurring thread talked about many times before because you maybe didn't do a search. Apire to post something new and different and feel good if something doesn't get move.

Hint #4: Almost all threads about gas, oil, or tires have been talked about many, many times.
Search and look through

https://www.fjrforum.com/forum//index.php?showtopic=26075first.

Other Things

  • No Double Posting. Once is enough. Once is enough. And three times is just way too much.
  • Summarize Your Thread in the Title. Just Say No to Teaser Threads that end with..... We're to big a board with too much traffic to expect people to click on every link. Help the board to give a clue what the thread is about. (Hint #5: Teaser threads also annoy Admins)
  • CAPS, Exclamation Points!!!!!, and Grammar. Probably not the end of the world, but MAKING THAT TITLE ALL CAPS!!! or thinking this is a MySpace chatroom and you have "m4d sk1llz" (LOL) will probably garner unwanted attention from an admin. Remember that a well-crafted post is going to get more and better attention while inviting less dogpiling.
  • Don't hijack threads. Stay on the topic originally posted. Hint #6: If you start to say, "This is off topic, but...", "A little hjaak....", "It reminds me of another thing...." or something similar then it's a thread hijack and you should go start another thread instead.
  • Please use Your Edit Privilege judiciously if you have it.
  • Selling, trading, spotting cool deals elsewhere (like eBay) go in Classified Ads - For Sale...even if you're not the one selling.
  • Purposely miscategorizing a thread and ignoring common etiquette is a good way to make members and admins want to find a sharp stick to use.
