Do the Staintunes sit a bit futher in or closer to the swingarm. I reckon the original cans sit too far out, Yamaha could have sat them about 25-30mm (1"-1 1\4") closer to the swing arm.
That's a good question. From the pics I've seen of staintunes they appear to sit as far out as the stock cans. That is the one reason why they are not on my short list of cans. Too bad too because they look awesome otherwise.
I'd have to put a stocker back on one side and measure to be sure but I believe the overall effect of the 'tunes is that they are both farther in and farther from the swing arm because they're so much narrower than the stock cans.

Do ya know of a can that does sit closer to the Swingarm?Any pics?
I have formulated my opinion by viewing photos such as in this thread where you can gage the alignment of the can relative to the hanger bracket. The staintunes and stockers are basically flush with the brackets, whereas cans that use straps like the bluflames and holeshots seem to be tucked further inboard toward the swingarm.

Great Post....I just installed mine today :yahoo:

Look and sound great ... with the bottom plug out.
