As if on cue, The Seldom Scene, a consumate bleugrass band, will be doing a show at lil' Carnegie Hall in Lewisburg on Fri Sept 14 at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are available online @ Carnegie Hall

If you are a bluegrass fan, you already know what you would be hearing - they are among the finest. Don't wait, tickets will go fast from here on out and seating is limited. The concert hall is small, intimate with superb acoustics. It's gonna be a helluva show!

Thanks for the heads up! I just picked up a couple of tickets just in case. Since I don't drink I can safely miss the beerfestivities at the hotel. I'm sure the concert will beat watching fuzzy Bay Watch reruns on the hotel tube.... :guitar:

Thanks anyway Jim, but I'll be at the hotel drinking w/ the rest of the motorcycle degenerates.

Me too! When Lorie and I were yungins back in the last century, we used to go to a bar that had bluegrass bands. Lorie just mentioned the other day that we hadn't seen any for quite a while! Thanks for posting this Jim, you da' man!

Love Bluegrass ---so I will buy myself a ticket!

QUICK QUESTION: Which section are you guys sitting in? more expensive - or less expensive? Wanna watch with the fellow feejer owners...

I knew there was some reason I figured you was alright!

Section B, Row I, somewhere around seat 20 fer me ands my entourage!. No worries, there ain't a bad seat in the house and anyone you sit near will adopt you, just be forward and strike up a conversation; but be forewarned- try and talk during the music and they'll tar and feather ya!! - it's the Greenbrier Valley and it's just our way.

yer welcome, but you and the rest of the degenerates that let this opportunity slide jus don't know what yer missin'. These guys have won more music awards than the Clapton!! Hell, they even play tunes from the Grateful Dead, J. J. Cale, who Clapton made famous and more, much more.....they just do it acoustically......Seldom Scene GONNA ROCK DA HOUSE!!!!

Glad to! Seldom Scene more than just a bluegrass band - they are legendary among em. And say, they're from your general neck o da woods, they originated in D. C. in the last century! Mighta played some at yer bar...?

We grew up outside of Phila PA, but might have heard them at some point. We're in Sec A row F seates 13/14.

geez... I played in a bluegrass band when I was a college freshman back in the mid-70's, and The Seldom Scene was discussed in hushed tones back then as one of the finest pickin' bands in the country. After another 30 years, I bet they're awesome.

Another reason to sob in my beer that I won't be at EOM.

Sections A and B  Row G Seats 16 and 17.....

O.K. that means that Jim and his entourage are behind me. There will be no throwing of JuJubes or popcorn at ANY time before, during, or after the performance.

Aw geez Axe; me, Creta and Ol' Ray ain't gonna waste good snacks on ya. We hurl the packaging!! You toss em over at Wheaton and he can pummel Jim/Lor and Greg E up in the fancy seats!

However, I can't speak for FJRGARY, he gets kinda wild on grass, especially grass grown in his hometown. Hard to tell how he'll carry on  :D

They played the Phila Folk Festival back in, geez, 1997 or maybe 1998. Their performance at the Folk Fest was pretty darn good, I can still recollect a few moments & songs, even now. Ticket purchased. Thanks!

I like Bluegrass, but I'll have Deena with me and she is not a fan. Guess I'll reserve a seat at the Brier Patch instead. :drinks:

Is Deena old enough to drink? If so, send her over to us.
