Though I'm not a fan of BMW, I can appreciate a good looking bike when I see one. I saw this one parked outside of a wedding I was attending. I was struck by it's paint and cleaness. Is this stock or custom paint?

Beautiful bike.

I am a fan of BMW, but not quite so on that retro paint job that you like so much. Rode the boxer several times, just never became a fan like so many others did. The new water cooled one however? I have not yet tested. Hmmm, not sure that I want to now that I already own two ST bikes.

Sometime around '03 - '04 BMW offered those Ivory accents; Ivory on Gray was much loved by many, and ugly to the rest.

Yep a purty classic. If I was ever to own a Beemer it would be an R except they are a bit underpowered. R's a lot easier to work on. Likely I'd want a 1200 though, and the watercooled one would more likely appeal to me....... apparently the R1200's are the most comfy sport tourers........... now if I could just convince myself I need to slow down and not like the Feej so much.

Some day maybe I'll own a nice old airhead rather than being one. A 70's R75 - R90 would be nice. The newer ones don't do anything for me.

It's old. The 1150 is fully two generations of boxer engine in the past. 10 years of fast moving technology in the past. I hope you are only joking and not that easily offended. My Honda ST1300 is an '04 and is most certainly a dinosaur. But, it is clean, well maintained, ridden and enjoyed.

Again, I think that bike looks cool and I appreciate the OP sharing that pic with us.

steve_g, that is a stock BMW factory paint job available as an extra option on the early 2000's. We have two of these in our AZ Beemers Club, a popular modification and on both of our AZB R1150RS's is the Remus exhaust. Really fun bike on "Devil's Highway '666'" in Eastern Arizona! jes' sayin' and nuff said!
