Border crossing into Canada from USA

We crossed at the Peace bridge without any trouble. One car in front of me, noone else in line and Mike(WNYFJR) pulled in rigt behind me. We were meeting Wineguy(Mike) in Ft. Erie. Good timing? We crossed at Thousand Islands at around 1500 and sat in the hot sun for at least 30 minutes. That sucked. The guy at the booth didn't waste any time once we got up there and we were rolling quickly.

btw there is a new way around montreal these days via an extended Autoroute 30, crosses to the south shore well out of the city and connects to the eastern/southern autoroute systems bypassing montreal traffic, opened in dec 2012.
