This would include another 2 IBA rides I haven't sent in. I have the evidence safely stored though. And as for you skiwi, have you turned in your paperwork for a little ride we did last July in the Nevada desert? I didn't think so, ya wanker.
No need to get to carried away on this ride, though we would want to keep the average up, in case of any border delays. When I mean up, I don't mean warp speed either.Ian,With You, Hal, SkooterG, perhaps BlueStreek(Are you interested?) in, I feel that we will have to moderate our average 24 hour AVERAGE mph down to a SANE 65-70 mph or so!! You guys have a REPUTATION & established a benchmark that this VINTAGE rider would never be able to reach, PROBABLY!!<LOL> :clapping: :exclamation:
You really dont have to be in Mexico long, just long enough to prove you were there, so insurance may not be nessisary.I just did a quick online check, and it looks like you can get a one-day, full-coverage insurance policy for Mexico for $20-$35:Most US motorcycle policies are either valid in Canada, or can have Canadian coverage added for little or no cost - YMMV.
tcfjr....are sure about the Canadian coverage?....our insurance companies cover us in the U.S. @ no extra cost....I would think it would be the same for you coming up to Canada....if your insurance company is reputable of course (snicker, snicker)....though for Mexico, extra insurance must be purchased....I just did a quick online check, and it looks like you can get a one-day, full-coverage insurance policy for Mexico for $20-$35: US motorcycle policies are either valid in Canada, or can have Canadian coverage added for little or no cost - YMMV.
Yeah from the local thugs on the corner.... right mike?though for Mexico, extra insurance must be purchased....I just did a quick online check, and it looks like you can get a one-day, full-coverage insurance policy for Mexico for $20-$35: US motorcycle policies are either valid in Canada, or can have Canadian coverage added for little or no cost - YMMV.
Mexpro.com. As my gringo friend above says, they are the way to go. In fact, just this past weekend I bought a policy from them for THIS UPCOMING TWO DAY RIDE TO MEXICO. $36.36 for the two days including the optional travel assistance. They can be a little more expensive than some of the "on the border" places (I think), but are some of the few insurers that provide full coverage. Now if you want to get insurance, MexPro.com comes recommended by a fellow rider who has spent days traveling through Mexico. As a matter of fact, they are the ones I use whenever I've gone down to Mexico on my bike (which has only happened once to date).

Almost the same mileage with much less chance of snow, at least in April.

Since I have ridden into Mexico mucho more times than you have, that makes me more Mexican than you.

Hay Dave, I've been sitting here patiently waiting for you and Hal to get around to doing this ride. Count me in. :hyper:I have several of the IBA Insanity certs but want to add at least another to my experiences, therefore;I am planning to do the B to B on or about 13-15 April 2007. It will run from perhaps Calexico Mexico to SweetGrass Montana with it being a mostly slab run on I 15 thru Las Vegas. Salt Lake to Canadian Border. If you also want to get credit for a BBG 1500 Insanity(must have completed at least an IBA certified Saddle Sore 1k) then you can get both the BBG and BB Insanity. There will be no following support vehicles for this ride. It will be a rain or shine, warm or cold or whatever event. PM me if you are interested in giving me some company. Thanks in advance :yahoo:
Just for you TWN, I sent Mike Kneebone a request today for certificates for us to be handed out on site upon successful completion of the ride and he says no problem!! :yahoo:Bah! Since I've yet to send in my paperwork from Ian's SSK and my subsequent BB, I'm out on this one (unless someone has some pull with Kneebone & Co. Wink, wink.)
Sniff.
