When the area now known as 29 Palms (or Twentynine Palms) was originally found by explorers in 1855 it was nothing but an oasis. The Oasis of Mara (taken from the Chemeheuvi tribe's word meaning "little water") to be exact. At that time the oasis contained 29 palm trees. People would often refer to it as "the oasis of 29 palms". Thus the name.
And what makes you so sure that Uncle Bill stole the name of his mail client? That's a pretty common word.

I think Billy was eyeing Zillah for the IE7 name...until those Firefox people glommed onto it with their Mozilla pun.

nope. this was in the 97 to 99 time frame. back when dog piles like you mention were common and no on whined (for long before getting their ass handed to them).Was that the same person who got into a tiff about a crash that happened on a group ride? I did bring this up on the IBA forum last year as I live in Missouri and had the same thought.
I received a reply from Ira that you MUST start and finish at the border or coast.

mehaffydr, thanks for the reply and definite clarification. Not to mention getting the thread back on track. Any thread where WC is saying "Oh Snap" has obviously gone in a direction that can only lead to bad things.
