Phew, this was a long thread to make it thru, including the side links.

If you come up with an extension that only moves the mirror enough to see behind and looks as good as proposed, I'll get a pair

My phone rang as I was reading BwanaDik's post. It was a call to tell me some parts I ordered are finished and ready to be picked up. Translation: I just found out I'm making progress on my auxiliary tank project, the project that pushed this mirror bracket project to the back burner.

If I can get my auxiliary tank finished (both versions) in the next two weeks, I'll make a batch of the shorter GenII mirror brackets. That way I'll have some things to show off at CFR.

If pickax still wants a set, that's three sets I'll need to make. Brace yourself for sticker shock. These require a lot of machining.

Funny you should mention the aux. tank, I've just spent a lot of time today researching that very subject. Keep us posted on what you're up to. I've checked out the Tourtank and BML (?) options, not convinced either is right. BML is ugly, Tourtank, um, er,....just don't know
