Does anyone know if the brake levers are the same for all the years of the FJR

I bought some aftermarket brake levers off ebay that are supposed to be for a 2003, clutch side is correct and fits, but the brake side is thicker where it mounts on the bike...

Funny thing is - I bought levers previously for the 2005 stated specific for that year - they are identical to the 2015 and swapped right over...

Company stated that the 2003, and 2005 are different - which I found odd....

Gen 1 is all the same from what I'd have thought....

Either way they are going to send the correct adapter... but I have a feeling that the adapter that I got is for a different bike...

The '03 is different. I bought a pair of aftermarket levers one time for my '05 and got the '03 brake lever by mistake. It did not fit.

The Yamaha part number for an '03 is: 5EB-83922-01-00

For an '04 and above it is: 5VS-83922-00-00

Stuff musta changed with ABS availability. I know the lever assembly on the '03 has a mirror hole and the later ones don't, so yeah, they's differnt pieces!

I prefer the curve / grip angle, smaller size / lighter feel more positive grab to them then the fatty stock levers personally.... They also have more adjust-ability and are a bit closer to the bars.

I bought these and didn't know the 03 was different, though they fixed it for me.

I was after the brilliance of this blue anodizing

Nice looking for a nice price but not available for the 2014 ES they say.
I installed them on both my 2005 and swapped them over to the 2015 ES....

They work just fine for the GEN 3

Just don't pick the ones for 2003 (first link) - they are the only ones that don't fit 2004 - 2015

Its only the brake lever adapter that doesn't work, clutch matches up just fine.

I have both the 05 and 15 in my garage right now.... and confirm they fit and function just fine.

Had the lighter blue ones in the second link on my 05 my good man.

The parts for the levers in the first link swap out to the ones in the second link which I bought a few years back...

Have a couple sets of knock-offs from the2wheels and can confirm the bases fit '05 and up FJRs and Teneres too!

Sale going on...might be time to stock up on different colors!

Just an FYI. I have the Pazzos on my ES but sprung for the knock-offs for my Bonneville. The anodizing, especially the black, will fade fairly quickly on the Chinese versions.

Maybe something like Aerospace 303 might help, but I suspect in the long run it's the cheap anodizing that is the issue and it wouldn't make much difference.

I experienced no fading on my first set of blue ones at all....

Only time will tell on the second set, just put them on - then again my bike doesn't sit in the sun very long

Cheap dye and an improper sealing techniques will certainly lead to fade like this.

Having evaluated anodizers at my previous employer, I found one anodizer in the US out of the 15 that I tested who could produce a high quality finish.

Kaehr Plating here in Albuquerque: https://www.kaehr.com

They have done military and industrial spec plating for years. They did business with my dad's machine shop for probably 40 years. Anything I need plated or powder coated goes to them. Even if I didn't live here, I'd ship my stuff to them.
