I'll consult the social director (Mrs. Pep).

Warning!! Thread hijack!!!

Been toying with a ride to Woodmans in Ipswich. They fry the clams in lard... to die for/from...

Don't know how to structure a route to/from there that would be all that interesting, tho.

I'd call it "The Gathering of the Clams...2011"

It looks like the Mrs and I will be making the trip. Trying to plan an interesting route. Wish I had the 'beam's mad routing skills. See you tomorrow (If we don't get lost)

Just so you can't say you weren't warned- it was still 81 degress last night at 11 when I got to work last night! Very muggy and gross. :dribble:

As for the Gathering of the Clams, I think that'd be a good run! Good idea Carl!

If we choose to go coastal, I've got a ride that takes us right past Woodmans on the way to Gloucester. (Takes us past the Clam Box in Ipswich on the way home).

Don't let the crowd in this picture worry you, it is normally worse than this ;)

FWIW, it's 78 degrees at 5:00 in NH, this is a rare day. Expecting to head out @ 6:15 into the teeth of the Nashua rush hour.

Excellent breakfast at Parker's - check.

Post breakfast ride in Western Mass - ABORT MISSION!!!

It was 94 degrees and 50% relative humidity after breakfast. Riding around out west would be un-fun. We'll save that loop for another (cooler) day.

Great to see everyone again, even for such a brief encounter.

(stay cool!)

PS - If anyone is lurking, the 10% internet coupon for Parker's is good any weekday including your first visit.

Rhode Island is checking in-back home (99 degrees) and in the air. Thanks for the fine food and company.

Back in Newburyport. no problems. Saw 102 on the bike thermometer in Bedford, rt 101. How did we do this before mesh jackets? Good to see everyone this morning. It was a fine gathering and food to match.

Shortly after we split off with the Freds my oven roaster popup timer popped :dribble: Wish I could bank this day away and replay it some time in January. The smarter half of this household is upstairs sitting in front of our window AC.

It was great to see FJReady and his wife join our Breakfast Club this morning as well as the long(er) distance rider Cota95. Good food and good company. It was also nice to get a definitive answer about the coupons -- they were valid for our meal this morning.

I want to take a better look at Pepperell's handy work some time on a cooler day, he has done some seriously nice metal work. I'm off to take an online look at his FJR's new friend that will be following them around on camping trips.

Holy carp!

The mercury just crossed the century mark here in southern Cow Hampshire.

Well... at least it's a wet heat.

Good thing we bailed out early. I'm hiding in the AC office until this ridiculousness is over.

The only good news to report is that it's only 86 in Stowe Vermont. ;)

We are 'doing the ton' too. Our shaded digital thermometer popped the thermal barrier around 1:30. Out other digital thermometer has the sensor in the afternoon sun and it was over 120. I know the desert guys and the deep south people are laughing at us. They are welcome to come have an out door party with us next January or February.

I'm not laughing. It sucks doesn't it?

Yesterday Ft. Smith broke the record for consecutive days over 100 set in 1934. (17)

Forecast is more of the same. (Actually Monday may only hit 99.)

107 right now, but the humidity doesn't seem too bad today.

:dribble:

Snow sounds darn good right now....

Glad you guys had a great breakfast, great company and a lttle (short) fun in the sun. unfortunatly the JAG'S could not attend (although even with the HOT,HOT we would have prefered the ride) as we spent the last two day's with my sister who had to have major

cancer surgery (lung) as of tonight, doing better than expected and praying for continued improvment. We hope to catch the dining club crew soon. JAG
