I live about a mile from Grass Valley's Inter-Agency Air Attack base where they refuel and load retardant on Tankers. Most of the time, that small general aviation airport doesn't give me much fly-over noise. But from a little after dawn until almost dusk nowadays, that's changed. I never feel good to hear a heavy traffic day, knowing what that must mean. There are two more going in the American River drainage, too:

Okay folks… given the fire activity, I’ve decided we’ll take 120 through Yosemite to avoid the smoke, etc. Jimmy at the Settlement has been reporting conditions and, as of today, air condition is “good”… Clark was also in Yosemite yesterday and reported good skies. Info below on new route, etc. You’re welcome to follow along or, if you prefer, do your own thing another direction. Look forward to seeing you all soon!
