So I was playing with my bike installing some stuff and I thought that I would pull out the tool kit and the little plastic tray it sits in. All is going well until I try to unplug the wide electrical connector that goes to the ECU that is attached to the bottom of the tray.....Broke the locking tab off the connector. What are my options here? Bike still runs fine but I am concerned of problems down the road. Does anybody make some little dodad that will repair the locking tab?

HA HA!

I did that shortly after getting my bike and deciding I needed to to the co adjust.
:p

It has been like that for 9 months now, haven't changed anything, just plug it in, it has stayed in place, I think all the wires going in once the cover is installed do not allow it any room for movement!
:clapping:

I just decided to keep that little boo boo to myself!
;)

Besides's cursing like a drunken sailor
:angry2: , I never have done anything to juryrig it. No tape or anything else. If yours was like mine, it's a bi-atch to pull out of there anyways. Been like that now for 20,000 miles or so.

Of course, I wan'st stupid enough to share my little oopsie with the whole world.

Ooops. I just did.

I feel much better now knowing that there are others who have broken their tab and not suffered any negative results.

I broke the one to ABS installing Wilbers shock. Its a little different than ECU one. I put a small bead of silicon gasket maker around joint to keep it from comming apart. It fit so tight don't think is was needed . Zip ties work good also.
