I've never been big on keeping bikes super clean, but I do generally give them a coat of wax shortly after I bring them home. Once waxed, I've had pretty good luck getting bugs and bug debris off without leaving marks in the paint.
There were some thread a few months back that equated having a clean bike with having a gay bike.
There is something about the FJR that makes me want to keep it clean. I've had lots of new bikes that didn't make me feel this way. I'm not sure what it is about the FJR. I've decided though that the Gay bike reference must be in the old time sense of the word Gay, as in Happy. A clean and waxed FJR seems like a Happy FJR.... at least that's the way mine goes. :good:

I'm agree with you.... I would much rather have my bike cleaned up and make sure its working properly.... Maybe the people that think a clean bike is gay, are the same people that would have liked to own a dirty *** Harley from the old days... those are probably the same people that are so shallow to use a reference 'gay' as a slur and a public 'look down' to talk and describe other forum members as a disgrace for cleaning your bike........ These people are idiots on several levels........ Someone doesn't have to spit shine there bike every day they ride it, but from a aesthetic view and a mechanical aspect people should keep this SPORT/touring machine cleaned up....
I heard several references to me cleaning my bike up at OEM and how it was gay......... I find this absolutely ridiculous..... I take it all in fun and a joke, but continue as you members see fit........
